Talladega is a city in Etowah County, Alabama, United States. The population was 20,543 at the 2010 census. Talladega is the county seat of Etowah County. It is part of the Birmingham–Hoover Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first post office in Talladega was established on December 7, 1875, and it remained in operation until April 15, 1907. The first building in Talladega was a one-story frame schoolhouse located near the intersection of Market Street and Fourth Avenue. In 1879, a two-story frame grocery store was built by John Crouch at 322 Eeches Road just south of downtown Talladega. In 1881, A&P Store (later JCPenney) opened its doors at 4th and Warrior Streets in downtown Talladega with an initial store count of 10 stores across four states. During prohibition Era in America starting in 1933 alcohol sales were allowed only within 500 feet of any business that sold liquor to consumers under 21 years old including churches which were required to close their doors during prohibition days due to law enforcement restrictions against selling intoxicating beverages to minors without prior written consent from parents or guardians... Consequently A&P Stores closed early during prohibition as they could not compete with large beer distributors who had marketing muscle behind them... By 1935 there were only 3 A&P stores remaining open statewide: 2 along I-565 east of Mobile and 1 anchored by JB Hanes on US 92 north of Montgomery... All other retailers either closed up shop or relocated within Alabama when Prohibition ended on January 17th 1933 Etowah County became a municipality on November 6, 1907 when all but one small town within Etowah County seceded from the Mobile County government effective November 5th due to frustration over Longstreet's ineffective leadership as county executive On July 16th 1908 Jacksonville Electric Railway Co leased land bordered on the south by Warrior Boulevard and west by First National Bank property for electric railway service between Piney Woods Junction (northwest corner) near present day University Park Drive about three miles northwest of downtown Talladeaga and Falcon Center about five miles northeast thereof with twenty five trains per day running into/out from Jacksonville daily; passenger service continued through 1916 when rail line moved to new station located east side street north east corner current Red Mountain Drive & Old Fulton Rd thence via Old Fulton Rd & US 292 northerly to junction with US 16W just before present day town limits On October 24th 1912 Wagon Wheel Restaurant opened adjacent to train tracks just northwest of present day university park drive; this restaurant became known as "The Gator" because local residents would go there for dinner after playing sports at Falcon Center Stadium until 1949 when football games moved back indoors to Bryant-Denny Stadium depleting available space at "The Gator" which then closed its doors permanently 1924 Etowah County annexed portions of Baldwin County effective May 1st 1915 pursuant to Article XVIII Section 2(a) et seq.; included parts lying eastward along Bald Eagle Creek including Steele Springs Recreation area now part Of Hoover City Limits; Steele Springs Valley boundaries extended down stream past present day Fischerville/Moses Lake boundaries

The history of airguns is long and complex, with a number of different inventors and manufacturers contributing to their development. Today, there are more than 1 million varieties of airguns available on the market, making them one of the most diverse forms of firearms in the world. The origins of airguns can be traced back to 1881 when George Stephenson invented the first successful breech-loading shotgun using gunpowder propellant in his Rocket Gun. This weapon was used by military forces during the 19th century for artillery fire and proved particularly effective at ranges up to about 100 yards (91 m). By 1902, however, breech-loading shotguns were no longer being manufactured due to their high cost and/or limited range. instead, engineers developed a new type of firearm called an Air Pistol which could be fired by compressed gas rather than an empty magazine. The first practical Air Pistol was designed by Major John Fowles in 1907 using gasoline engine power to create a pneumatically operated device capable of firing small pellets up to 10mm in diameter from a metal tube extending beneath the barrel.[1] These early designs were little more than simple toys that lacked any real firepower or lethality. However, after World War I came along and saw increased demand for artillery fire through aerial bombardment (particularly during World War II), several developers decided it would be fun enough to develop something even further – an Air Rifle![2] This wasn’t actually until 1949 that someone finally managed to make an accurate shot outrange anything achievable with cannons or rifles; this was when Major John Randall created his Randall Rifle which could hit targets at 100 meters (330 ft)! Talladega was founded in 1839 by General Andrew Jackson as a military post on the Talladega River. The town grew rapidly, and by 1875 it had a population of over 10,000 people. In 1907, Talladega became an automobile manufacturing center, and its first car was produced at the plant in 1911. The plant closed in 1968 but the name lives on in nearby Decatur, Alabama. In 1941, during World War II, Talladega suffered heavy damage from bombing raids by the Japanese. The town rebuilt quickly and regained much of its former prosperity; however, the post-war period was difficult for Talladega because of low demand for automotive products. In 1959, local businessman Don Reeves purchased the old plant and reopened it as the Reeves Automotive Company. The company manufactured cars until 1995 when it merged with Ford Motor Company to form Ford/Buick/Chrysler/Alden. It is now known as Chrysler Group LLC.
In 1881, Talladega was set off from the 1,000 acre community of Dothan by a group of investors led by banker and entrepreneur J.B. McKee. The town was named after General Andrew Jackson's daughter, Talladega County being located in his plantation country south of present day Montgomery. In 1925, the first post office opened in Talladega with five mail clerks and only three residents. The population peaked at 9,000 in 1930 before declining to 3,500 by 1940 due to World War II bombings and other economic hard times. The population reached its current low of 2,700 in 2009 but has been increasing steadily since then thanks to immigration and job growth.
