On February 17th of 1966, Mayor Hardisty Sr., passed away at the age of eighty-one years old due to heart failure following a long battle with cancer! His son John Hardisty took over as mayor throughoutmuchofthe1970s before retiringin1992 at the age of seventy-eight years old!
