There are several gun lights that have been in Saraland, Alabama since the early 1800s. One of the earliest gunsights was a carnelian glass and brass target pistol light. It was used to shoot at small game from a distance and was very effective. A second gunlight, also made of carnelian glass and brass, was used by law enforcement officers in the 1920s. This type of light had two parts-an oil lamp with a wick and an electric light bulb or filament. The bulb read "fire" when hit by an arc bullet, which meant that it was working as a target pistol light. In the 1940s, another type of gunlight called a "nightstick" was created for use by police officers during dark raids or investigations. It consisted of a metal rod with two black circles on it that were held up over the shooter's head while they fired their pistols at targets within range. These lights could be turned on or off by turning a knob on the side

There were many different designs and manufacturers before the modern LED gun light became popularized in the late 1990’s. In 1892, George Smith designed the first practical handgun with an illuminated bolt action design. The revolver was called the “Great American Rifle” and was manufactured by Edward Colt for John Browning in 1892. The rifle was made with a detachable magazine and had a bright white light on top that could be seen in any direction. Many other companies followed suit including Winchester Repeating Arms Company (Winchester), Stevens Factory Armory (Stevens) and DeSoto Firearms Corporation (DeSoto). The early handguns like the Colt Great American Rifle were not successful due to their high cost and difficulty in manufacturing. However, during World War I there was an increase demand for handguns because of new legislation that allowed soldiers to carry firearms without having to obtain a license or pay taxes. As a result, Colt produced over two million pistols with illuminated bolt action design which helped improve firearm safety for soldiers across America. Gunlights began becoming more common after World War II as shooters transitioned from using only hand-held flashlight devices to using larger firearms such as pistols and shotguns requiring more illumination when firing rounds into dark environments such as wars zones or hunting areas. In 1949, Westinghouse Electric Company developed what is now known as the Western Electric Gunlight which became popular among hunters thanks to its soft-touch housing and easy grip design making it comfortable for users of all ages while hunting animals at night skyward

Saraland, Alabama is a small town in Escambia County, Alabama, United States. The population was 1,868 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Mobile–Ft. Morgan–Marlin Combined Statistical Area. The first inhabitants of Saraland were the Muscogee people who built their villages on high ground near present-day Saraland and White Oak Bayou. In 1814, General Andrew Jackson's army advanced through Escambia County and destroyed some of the Muscogee villages after a bloody battle that left many dead and an unknown number of survivors fleeing into Indian Territory. In 1830, large numbers of white settlers arrived in Escambia County from Georgia and other parts of the South because they wanted to establish cotton plantations. The first buildings in Saraland were log cabins used as stores and workshops by early settlers. A post office was established in 1836, but it closed soon after because no mail could be transported from Mobile toEscambia County by wagon or horseback due to lack of roads. The town started to grow around 1840 when a canal was constructed by Hiram Boggs which connected White Oak Bayou with Lake Pontchartrain. By 1850, there were over 100 dwellings in Saraland; however, most residents lived on farms outside the town limits because transportation was not available to send goods within town limits without being seized by customs officials or sold at auction (a process called "bidding"). In 1861, during Confederate forces' occupation of Mobile Bay area following Union victory over Confederate forces at Second Battle of Bull Run outside Selma), local citizens vigilante groups known as "the Rangers" began an armed resistance against pro-Union troops until eventually capitulated on January 3, 1865 after eight days of fighting (the last fight taking place before Union General Ulysses S Grant's arrival). Later years saw increased commercial activity in Saraland as businesses developed around white families who had bought land surrounding the canal basin where mills operated for producing flour, cloth and other items needed for daily life in early 20th century Alabama society; these developments led to increased traffic congestion on US Highway 97 which bisects SaralAND along its eastern edge necessitating widening/ erecting bridges across White Oak Bayou over time leading ultimately to economic decline for both towns when highway travel became more convenient via Interstate 95 southward rather than traveling through town center where much Commercial activity ended up happening leaving less space available forresidential development while also contributing indirectly (~$10 million) directly (~$27 million) towards overall decline & closure/destructionof downtown MARLIN Business District between 1995 - 2000 Although today some residential areas still exist within City Limits although access may be limited primarily due to tight real estate markets
On Christmas day, 1814, the first United States steamboat sailed from Mobile Bay and arrived at Saraland. The town was founded by a group of men who were looking for a place to live that would be close to the military.
