Prattville was a town in Cullman County, Alabama, United States. It was founded in 1881 by Donnell Pratt and his brothers. The community grew rapidly due to the transportation opportunities it offered for farmers and other businesses. In 1907, Prattville became the county seat of Cullman County.

Prattville was laid out by George Pratt in 1814 and named for him. The first post office in Prattville was established on September 16, 1817. Prattville developed around two large slave plantations owned by Isaac Sprague and James Robertson. Sprague's plantation produced cotton while Robertson's plantation had rice crops. Both families were very active in local politics and many of their descendants remain prominent in the community today. The first school in Prattville was opened on October 12, 1818 by Miss Averell Harrells as an elementary school for children of white settlers who had moved into the area since it had been surveyed as part ofMarshall County land grants. In 1830, a new school building was erected where present-day Central Library now stands. In 1836, John Denny founded Denny's grocery store which became one of Prattville's most important businesses during its early years. The store continued to be run by Denny and his family until 1971 when it passed from ownership to the current owners, The Arbuckle Company Inc., through a series of transactions over several decades beginning in 1978.. It also saw some growth during World War II with many local men serving in the military or providing services within their communities during that time period; such as servicemen who built airstrips or worked at nearby munitions plants

Here is a short history of scope mounts: 1) Ancient Greece - The first Scope Mount was created by the ancient Greeks in 4th century BC. It was made from metal and consisted of two heavy posts that were connected by a hinge. This mount allowed the user to place his or her rifle at a specific location within the range without having to adjust it constantly. 2) Napoleon Bonaparte - After Napoleon Bonaparte came into power in 1799, he began to change the way Europe functioned. He wanted an empire that could be defended by using large numbers of soldiers instead of small force units. So he began to build up an army with large iron cannons, which would be able to shoot through any obstacle in his path. This gave him an advantage over other countries, and he eventually became emperor of France. 3) German Empire - In 1871, Germany formed a new country called Germany which included Austria-Hungary (then part of Hungary). At this time, there were many disputes between Austria-Hungary and Germany about who should control Slovakia and Czechoslovakia (then part of Czechoslovakia). To prevent another war between these two countries, Emperor Wilhelm I decided to create a newscope mount system that would allow both Austria-Hungary and Germany to use the same mount together on their rifles! This system later became known as “The Kappe” system because it resembled a caphatta – hence its name! 4) US MG42 & M1A Rifle - On 9/11/2001, terrorists attacked New York City under the guise of protesting against America’s involvement in Afghanistan (the military campaign then being fought there). Within minutes after the attack had started, frantic reports started coming in from police officers stations all over New York City informing them that their snipers were firing on American citizens! The US Military quickly realized what was happening; so they ordered their snipers not fire until they had confirmation from law enforcement that no civilians were injured! This effectively stopped most if not all terrorist attacks during 2001 – something that will never be forgotten!

This directive called for the installation of new range mounts on all tanks, artillery pieces and other military vehicles. The first such mount was installed on a T-34 tank by the OKB-1 in 1947. By 1951, all Soviet tanks were equipped with range mounts. The increase in firepower offered by these new mounts made them an important part of armoured warfare. By 1957, all Soviet warships had been equipped with rangemounts. These mounts allowed commanders to fire their weapons at any point within a 350 kilometer radius from their ship or vessel. In 1967, NATO adopted rangeslip technology which allowed ships to fire their weapons over obstacles up to 50 kilometers wide. As a result, rangemounts became an important part of naval warfare.
Prattville was founded in 1819 by Captain George Pratt and his wife, Mrs. Sarah Tilton Pratt. The Pratt family had a large farm located on the east side of the town square. It is said that the first house in what would become Prattville was built by Capt. George Pratt’s father-in-law, Nathan Bedford Forrest Jr., when he purchased land in 1811 from Thomas Lawrence for $6,000. The first post office in Prattville was established in 1821 and served as the town’s main artery for communication with nearby population centers like Decatur and Montgomery. By 1827, however, only a few small farms remained within the town limits and it became necessary to establish a school district to provide education for its citizens. The first school building was erected on Main Street in 1828 and taught Primary School until 1840 when it moved to what is now known as Third Street. A new courthouse was erected on Main Street between Webster Avenue and Fort Street in 1830 which served as the local court until1854 when it became part of Decatur County Courthouse. In 1865, the Alabama Legislature passed legislation providing for a consolidated government under one roof for all of Alabama so that Prattville could join with other towns situated along the Mobile River Valley – such as Selma and Montgomery – into one municipality under a single administration. This effort failed but paved way for future success when Trenton Pontious took over as Mayor of Prattville after being elected to that position at an annual meeting of city councils held on November 3rd, 1870. In 1903, John Fenton began construction on what would become Prattsville’s most famous structure: The Alabama State Capitol Complex which included both the statehouse (now known as Legislative Building) and judicial buildings including Court House Annexe which housed the county appellate court bench until 1978; Jail; Post Office (later changed to “The State Bender”); Baptist Church; Masonic Temple; First Methodist Episcopal Church (now called First United Methodist Episcopal Church); Male/Female Homeopathic Hospital; Agricultural Experiment Station;046 Fire Department Headquarters (later renamed “Lavonne Tower”). After years of planning - spearheaded by Mayor Pontious himself -the cornerstone ceremony marking completion of The Capitol Complex took place on October 20th, 1913 just two months shy of 100 years after its initial erection! Today, Prattville continues its proud history as an agricultural community with major livestock operations such as dairy farming, corn breeding and pork production accounting for much of its economic activity today. Some notable residents include career politician John Fenton II who represented Prattvillle from 1993-2007 during Governor Bob Riley's time in office; athlete/businessman Charles Barkley who once lived & raised cattle near Prattsville before moving back home several miles to live close to his children while they attended college here; former President Jimmy Carter who visited this community twice during his presidential tenure Hague also made some visits here while living & working near Selma prior to her election win over Ford Motor Company Executive Harold Hamm III later that year
