In addition to its courthouse and court house; other major landmarks include: (1) The Baldwin-Haley House Museum which is home to significant collections related to African American history; (2) The National Civil Rights Museum which honors events that took place during America's civil rights movement; (3) Mrs. Johnnie Ladd House which dates back to 1897 and houses important historical artifacts related to cotton farming in Butler County; (4) Fort Payne Park - home of the Marshall Air Force Base - offer baseball games throughout the year;; (5) Kratzer Elementary School - one of three elementary schools serving students within city limits operated by Birmingham Schools District No 4 - offers kindergarten through 8th grade education.; (6) Pioneer Cemetery contains more than 60 tombstones dating back to pre-Civil War days among other interesting features.;(7) One mile south of downtown off US 69 sits Queen Creek Reservoirs with over 100 acres available for fishing or recreation purposes including boat ramp/launch area., making it an ideal spot for swimming or boating; Prattville also features one annual event that brings together many different businesses from all over Alabama for a weekendlong celebration called "Town Meeting".
