Pleasant Grove is a small town in Alabama, United States. It was founded in 1881 by Andrew Fuller and his family. The town is located in Limestone County, about 30 miles north of Birmingham. The population was 1,817 at the 2010 census. The Fuller family arrived in Mobile, Alabama in 1825 and started a general store there. They moved to Pleasant Grove in 1881 after purchasing land from the Hamilton family. Andrew Fuller donated most of the land for the town. His wife Jemima (née Hammons) gave birth to their first child at the home they built on Apple Street near today's intersection of High Street and Park Avenue. The full name of their first home was "Pleasant Grove." In 1907, Pleasant Grove became part of Mobile County when Mobile was divided into two counties. In 1930, it became an independent municipalityorderto which it remains today. In 1951, it merged with nearby Vestavia Hills to form one new municipality called "Pleasant Grove-Vestavia Hills". Today, Pleasant Grove has a population of over 1,800 people who live within its borders as well as its own police department and fire department. It is also home to many businesses such as A&W restaurant and AutoZone across from its hospital complex on Airport Boulevard which opened in 1997). As an incorporated community within Limestone County since 1951, voters have consistently approved comprehensive planning that seeks to promote public education and economic development through redevelopment initiatives .

This forced many of the original settlers to move away from their homes and start anew in new towns or villages elsewhere in Alabama. Some of these new residents stayed for a time but most eventually relocated once again to Pleasant Grove due to its continued prosperity and growth potential.
