In 1998, Laser Sight Corporation merged with Bushnell Firearms Incorporated to become Bushnell LASER SYSTEMS CORPORATION (BUSHNELL). Since then,Bushnell has continued to produce high quality lasers for both personal defense and commercial use.

The war led to a decline in production but also helped resurgence of local businesses such as A&M University's Business School which moved from Flint to Pelham after World War II. Now called Auburn University-PelHAM Institute for International Studies (AIIS), AIIS remains one of only two United States universities with an international focus on its main campus inside Greater Detroit Area.

Pelham has seen many changes over time including increased African-American populations which has led to various integration efforts such as desegregation of schools; black professional clubs have been formed which have supported economic development; a jazz festival has been held every year since 2004; and most recently, plans are underway for a shopping center that would include an African-American-owned business park as well as apartments for low-income residents
