Northport is a small town in the Alabama state of Alabama. The population was 8,514 at the 2010 census. It is located on the Gulf Coast of Mobile Bay and is part of the Mobile- Montgomery metropolitan area. Northport's economy is based on shipbuilding and fishing. The first settlement in what is now Northport was made by people who emigrated from Holland in 1795. In 1819, a post office called "New Port" was opened in what is now Northport and served as the county seat for Baldwin County until it was moved to Mobile in 1827. In 1836, an act of Congress designated land east of Mobile Bay along US 98 as Indian Territory and Partisan Creek as its capital. This gave rise to myth that Fort Pickens, which stood northeast of present-day Northport, was built by General Andrew Jackson during his victorious Battle of Horseshoe Bend to protect Indian Territory from further encroachment by white settlers. The fort never existed; it was constructed only after the Cherokee Removal Act had been passed in 1830 and Cherokee lands were sold to Georgia colonists During Reconstruction following the Civil War, many African Americans were brought into north Alabama under terms set out by President Abraham Lincoln. They were gradually integrated into society through programs such as education and labor rights granted them through legislation like the Magnuson Plan which aimed to improve living conditions for black people across America while not giving them over total control over their lives or languages. This process continued until they reached legal equality with whites via passage of Thurgood Marshall's Supreme Court decision Brown v Board of Education (1954). It should be noted that many African Americans who found themselves living outside white neighborhoods did so due to abuse or violence from mobs led by KKK members or other white supremacists during this time period relationships between races remained tense throughout much of America despite progress being made towards reconciliation

These telescopes were made from three glass lenses that were attached to a large mirror. Telescopes continued to be developed until the 19th century when they became more advanced and could be used for viewing farther away objects than ever before. On December 4, 1795, Benjamin Franklin proposed using mirrors on an airplane as part of a new technology called flying disks or dirigibles because he felt that this would give him access to faraway places that he couldn’t see with his naked eye! However, this idea was not taken up until 1912 when Wright brothers developed the airplane theory which led to their first successful flight! In 1892, American Optical Society (AOS) was formed in response to the growing demand for quality optical products. AOS provides a forum for researchers from all over the world to share ideas and develop new technologies related to optics and photography. In 1978 AOS merged with its sister society, The American Institute of Physics (AIP), creating one great organization devoted exclusively to optics education and research across all disciplines!

As one of the largest cotton plantations in Alabama, it produced many famous abolitionists including John Brown and Abraham Lincoln. The city experienced significant growth during the late 19th century as a result of its position as a transportation hub on the Mobile River and its access to other markets. However, during World War II Northport's economy declined as戦争 increased production elsewhere in the area. Today Northport is known for its festivals and art exhibitions.
On December 12, 1821, a group of men and boys from Northport, Alabama set out on horseback to explore the area. They found new oil wells and began to make money. In 1865, the town was destroyed by fire.
