Mountain Brook is a small town in Mobile County, Alabama. It was founded in 1817 by John Wilkinson. The population of Mountain Brook was 605 at the 2010 census. The first ammunition factory in Mountain Brook was built by George Westphal in 1857. Ammunition production continued until 1906 when it closed due to World War I munitions shortages. In the early 20th century, Mountain Brook became known as the " Ammo Capital of the World." The town had a large arsenal where ammunition could be bought and sold from merchants across the United States. These days, only a few remnants of these Ammo businesses remain on Main Street in MountainBrook. Ammunition production resumed after World War II, but ended again due to ammo shortages during and after the Korean War. In 1976, local businessman Donny Young reopened an old munitions plant called Riverbend Ammunition Company as a job training center for young men from Mobile County who had lost their jobs at other factories during that time period. After several years of operation, Riverbend AmmunitionCompany went out of business and Donny Young retired in 1983..Today, there are very few traces remaining of either theOriginal Factory or donny Young's career as an ammunition manufacturer in MountainBrookThank you for your time!

Ammunition has been an essential part of the human experience since the beginning of time. In fact, ammunition may be the oldest known form of energy weapon. Ammunition was first developed in ancient Greece and India for use with bows and arrows. Over time, different projectile types were developed to create more powerful guns that could shoot farther than earlier weapons. The development of artillery led to increased population density and thus needed to find new ways to supply them with food and munitions. These days, Ammunition is produced all over the world in many different forms including shot (ammunition), grenades (grenades), rockets (rocket launchers) and bullets (bullets). Ammunition can be divided into three main categories based on their physical properties: explosive rounds such as mortar rounds or small arms rounds; non-explosive rounds such as rifle shots or shotgun pellets; and incendiary rounds which are used for fires by people or objects. Each category has its own places in history, uses and traditions within society that continue to this day!

The community has two schools: Mountain Brook Elementary School which serves students from pre-K to 8th grade, and Mountain Brook Junior/Senior High School which serves students from 9th to 12th grades. Mountainbrook is located on U S 85 south of Interstate 10 and east of Mobile proper; it borders Elkmont to the north, Midtown to the east, Spanish Bend to the south, and BayouConroe to the west. According to the 2010 census, its total area is . The climate here is classified as a humid subtropical climate (Cfa), with warm summers and cool winters that average around 65 degrees F (18 degrees C). Monthly temperature averages range from during summer months when temperatures reach into high 90s F (32 degrees C), while lows are usually in the low 30s F (−2 degrees C) during winter months although there have been extreme cold (−20°F (−4°C) events recorded).

Mountain Brook is a small town in Jefferson County, Alabama, United States. The population was 716 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Birmingham metropolitan area. Mountain Brook was first settled in 1817 by two families from Tennessee, John and Rebecca Stout. The community name likely comes from a brook that flowed through the town. The first post office in MountainBrook opened on October 15, 1819. In 1827, a mill race and sawmill were built in Mountainbrook by Asa Humble and James Browning. A gristmill followed in 1831 and an flour mill in 1834. By 1840, Crescent Mill had been erected near the intersection of center street and Brushy Run Road (later Pine Street). This mill produced flour for local markets as well as packages for shipment to Mobile and other cities across America. In 1865, mountain Brook became one of the towns within what would become Birmingham when it was reincorporated as a municipality under the new form of government known as "government towns". On November 3 of that year, MountainBrook's first mayor was elected: Gouverneur McKinney with 1% of the vote over incumbent Isaac Huntley Jr.. For many years afterwards this position rotated among members of the municipality's board of trustees which also included representatives from various industries including banking, manufacturing and transportation companies like Montgomery & Birmingham Railroad Company Limited which later became part of Southern Railway Company Limited In 1897-1898 mountain Brook experienced significant growth due to heavy investment by lawyer Elisha Gray who had bought an old plantation called "Honeymoon" north of town for $2 million dollars Gray planned to develop it into a large city with ample housing developments comprising hundreds thousand people between 1900-1920 but he never got very far with his plans because he died suddenly just before they could be completed In 1938-1939 during World War II much development took place again after several rounds of building permits were issued until finally on December 2nd 1941 when Japan bombed Pearl Harbor causing all but three homes in town immediately to burn Afterward most residents either moved away or left altogether leaving behind their valuable property which reverted back to its original ownership

By the early 1920s, Mountain Brook had become an important community within the Alabama rural economy.
