Millbrook is a small town in the U.S. state of Alabama, located about 20 miles south of Montgomery and 10 miles north of Birmingham. Millbrook was founded in 1871 by settlers from Georgia and is home to the Millbrook Baptist Church, one of several churches in the community. The population was 1,163 at the 2010 census. The first mill Griggs built at Mill Brook was destroyed by fire in 1875, but a new mill was erected soon afterward and continued operation until 1902. The present mill began operations in 1903 and has been in continuous operation ever since. It has a capacity of producing 100 tons per day of flour, feed grains, cottonseed oil, salt pork, cheese and other products. In addition to its primary purpose as a flour mill, the Millbrook Manufacturing Company also produced two pairs of shoes for retail use between 1904 and 1907; these were the last pair made in Mill Brook before it closed down due to lack of business opportunity during World War I. In 1976-1977 the company built a new factory on Brush Road that manufactured agricultural equipment such as tractors and combines; however this factory closed down after just one year due to low demand from customers. Since 1984 there have been efforts to restore or modernize aspects ofMillbrook's infrastructure including restoring its original brick streetscape (which still exists today), installation of digital streetlights throughout the community, renovation/updating its water system (including installing an American Standard water heater), installation of new sidewalks (including replacing some aging asphalt walks with more durable composite materials), enhancement/update work on its maintown square (currently serving as an open-air plaza) and much more!

Millbrook is a small town in western Alabama, United States. The population was 3,463 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Huntsville–Madison County, Alabama Metropolitan Statistical Area. Millbrook is located on the north bank of the mighty River Muscle Shoals and lies about midway between Decatur and Madison counties. The town was founded in 1834 by Methodist Episcopal missionaries from Illinois, who named it for John Mill (1784-1859), an early settler in that area. The first stores were established here in 1835; two years later saw the addition of a post office and schoolhouse. A gristmill was built soon after, becoming one of milling central Alabama's most important businesses during those years. In 1855, Millbrook became home to its first white Baptist church when Rev. James Gadsden organized what would become known as "The First Baptist Church in Huntsville." That same year saw also the opening of one ofAlabama's most famous hotels - The White House Hotel - which would survive until 1961 and now operates as a bed and breakfast inn within walking distance of downtown Millbrook. During World War II, Millbrook played an important role in production at nearby munitions factories; its residents helped feed troops stationed here during both world wars with their produce and local baked goods sold through military bases throughout the war effort. In 1954, Mill Brook High School opened its doors to serve local students following closure of nearby Decatur High School; this institution has since been renamed Millsaps College after Mrs. William Millsaps (1911-2006), benefactress of Bodie State University and numerous other charities including support for millstream restoration efforts near her home base on Ridge Road just outside town limits). Today, much like so many rural towns throughout America during this time period, mill farming continues to be an important aspect of life here at Millbrook - producing hay bales (a popular commodity around these parts) for local uses such as livestock feeds or fertilizer while also supplying annual crops such as corn for ethanol production or holiday gifts to families back east!

In 1870, a gristmill was built and the community became known for its milling industry.
