In 1924, the Millbrook Gun Club purchased their first machine gun and named it the "Mark VII." They also bought their first automatic weapon in 1928-29: a Thompson Submachine Gun nicknamed "the Tiger." In 1939-40, the Millbrook Gun Club acquired their second machine gun: an American Enfield Machine Gun nicknamed "the Howitzer." In 1945-46, they acquired their third machine gun: an FN Mauser MG nicknamed "the Panther".
Millbrook is a small town in the Tuscaloosa County, Alabama, United States. The population was 1,803 at the 2010 census. Millbrook is located near the base of Mountain Brook and on State Route 206 between Decatur and Birmingham. It is part of the Huntsville-Decatur metropolitan area. The first settler in Millbrook was Dr. George Witherspoon, who arrived in 1820. By 1830, there were nine families living in Millbrook Village; all except one had been resettled from Tennessee or Georgia by then-Governor Andrew Johnson during his Great Migration to temporary homes north of Mobile Bayou and east of Baldwin Street (now Fairfield Avenue). In 1831, Dr. Witherspoon's son John purchased land from Captain John Smith for £10 cash and built a log cabin which served as the village's first schoolhouse (later replaced by a frame building). In 1832, three more families moved into Millbrook Village: Lewis & Clark family (in charge of storerooms), Price family (lead dog trainer), and Carpenter family (farmers). All but one of these families would remain until around 1870 when most of the farmland became developed into present day mill Creek Township across Farm to Market Road 527 from downtown Tuscaloosa. In 1835-36, Reverend Auld came to Millbrook with his brother Robert Auld from Glasgow Scotland because they wanted "a better place than any where we are". They opened what became known as "Auld's Chapel" which stood on what is now First Street south of Business Park Drive SW near mile marker 205 on U.S.-Alabama state highway 441/U.S.-Alabama state highway 231/Alabama state route 251/. Rev Jno Auld preached here until 1840 when he went back home to take over preaching at East Point Bible Church in Mobile before returning permanently to Scotland that year.. On October 15th 1840 Mgr Alexander Macdonald preached anser sermon entitled “An Address To The Christian People Of Alabama” before 2200 people assembled at Red Brick Presbyterian Church in Huntsville drawing overflow crowds from many other locations withinMobile Preachers General Convention convened that day at Madison Square Garden New York City attended by delegates representing twenty states . This event marked Montgomery’s entrance into Union as an American Republic under President James K Polk
