The Millbrook Company was founded in 1892 by Theophilus Howe and his brothers. They made a variety of products, including saddles, boots, clothing, and agricultural implements. In 1912 the company moved to Mobile, Alabama.
Millbrook is a small town located in Randolph County, Alabama, United States. The population was 1,817 at the 2010 census. Millbrook is part of the Talladega-Montgomery Metropolitan Statistical Area. Millbrook is known for its famous apple orchards and their annual Apple Festival which takes place in late September or early October. The first settler to reside in what is now Millbrook was Abram Denton who came from Tennessee in 1819. He built a cabin on the mill pond and named it "Denton's Cabin." Mr. Denton died young and his wife, Sarah Pickett Denton, continued to live there until her death in 1895. In 1838 Jeptha Coffin bought some land near the present day intersection of U.S.-411 and Old Hwy 69 with the intent of founding a town there but he never did so because he ran into financial troubles. In 1843 John Hargrave founded Pikeville about four miles east of Millcroft on what is now called Highway 95 South (later I-565). Pikeville grew rapidly and by 1855 had a population of 2,500 people. In 1865 Isaac Newton bought 5 acres of land south of Pikeville near where present day Highway 7 meets Interstate 65 (I-65) from Hiram Piggott Sr., one of the original settlers in this area Wiregrass Country - an appellation still given to much of eastern Randolph County today including parts of Millbrook Village proper: In later years Newton became president and CEO (chief executive officer) of Mobile Gas Transmission Company Incorporated also headquartered in Mobile, Alabama - responsible for building many major towers across southeast Alabama during that time period as part as part company strategy called "Gasification" which led eventually to downtownMobile being created circa 1980 serving as both corporate headquarters for MGTCo & Hellenic Petroleum Corporation tapering off several blocks away beginning around 2000 While all this activity continues? Today you can see remnant gas towers erected over time throughout downtownMobile just north along I-565? A few blocks east along Macon Street nestled behind City Hall/Old Treasury Building currently under construction! All told? It’s safe to say that without Isaac Newton we would not have any downtownMobile today! And if you Google “Isaac Newton + Downtown Mobile” you will find quite literally hundreds+ articles & videos dealing with everything from property rights debates surrounding development within city limits ever since! One might suppose then that when one considers how central business districts like those found inside larger metropolitan areas have become increasingly difficult or even impossible to maintain without subsidy other formsides such as shopping malls may be more logical choices? However even within municipally boundaries things are changing - example Montgomery County has been struggling economically lately while Talladega County has seen significant growth (+10%) during same timeframe despite having no corresponding public sector infrastructure investments), suggesting something else might be required if larger metropolitan areas are going through similar difficulties! Nowhere else do we find examples OF business district redevelopment NOT funded by government coffers ??? Could it be???...... It should come as no surprise then that contemporaries were quick to nickname what they saw emerging around them "Wiregrass Country", likely acknowledging our new surroundings for what they were: rugged ridges covered largely with tall cottonwoods providing plenty Of timber for fuel firesIDEAL FOR HUNTING AND GATHERING BOILED WHEAT BARS ALSO FILLING THE AIR !! Although agricultural production had long been an important factor here too due To ample rainfallfed ground coverFOR CATTLE PRODUCE!!! BY MIDNIGHT ON THANKSGIVING DAY 1800 ABOUT ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY EIGHT YARDES WEST OF MILLBROOK AN EXTENSIVE ORCHARD WAS LANDED WITH APPLYING TO TWO TOWELS TO ANYONE CLAIMING IT.......Today just outside old mill village lies another large parcel adjoining original homestead site formerly belonging To Willis Dixon who arrived here circa 1795 At least two houses still stand on this property dating back to THAT TIME.....Although originally claimable By each familymember ONLY ON THEIR OWN FARMS SO LONG AS THEY KEPT THEM IN VIEW FROM THEIR HOUSE...This system gradually changed OVER TIME WITH FAMILY MEMBERS HELPING OTHERS CLOSE UP THE FARMS SO THAT NOW ALLOWANCE IS SPONSORED BY THE municipality!!Older residents still tendTo visit their families regularly albeit less frequently NOW THAT THEY CAN STAY IN THEIR HOME FRONT DOORSTEP WITHOUT BEIN' INVOLVED IN THE AGGRESSIVE VISITATIONS BY NONRESIDENTS ! .......Nowadays much Of Wiregrass Country pastoral living takes place close To cities however access remains excellent thru visitor centers situated Within easy walking distanceOf most Main Streets !!...... In fact, there are many reports of early humanswalking on all fours because they could not get past trees or other obstacles. As technology improved, humans started moving around on two legs to take advantage of new terrain and resources. Eventually, some groups of humans evolved into what are known as apes due to their physical similarities to chimpanzees and gorillas. The first ape-human hybrid beings appeared about 2 million years ago in Africa during the Miocene epoch. These hybrids were able to walk on two legs but had difficulty running because they lacked hipbones and ankle bones which allowed them to run quickly across uneven ground like humans do. However, this hybridity did not last long because soon after these hybrid creatures died out due to an unknown event or injury.

Millbrook is a small town in Alabama that is known for its Furniture Manufacturing company. The company was founded in 1892 by John A. Millbrook and his brother, Samuel Millbrook. The company made furniture such as chests, desks, chairs, beds and other household items. In the 1960s, the company became named after its founder, John A. Millbrook II. The mill closed in 1994 but reopened in 1999 as the Millbrook Village Museum of Arts and History. Today, the museum offers exhibits about mill life and production history as well as local artisanship.
