In the early 1800s, the area around Madison was a place where Native Americans and slaves lived together. The town was founded by Captain James Fayette in 1785, and it quickly grew into a major center for trade and commerce. In 1819, Madison became the capital of Alabama, and it soon became an important provider of goods and services to the state. By 1830,Madison had become so large that it began to rival Birmingham as the most populous city in Alabama. During this time, firearm ownership was illegal in most of Alabama. This didn’t mean that people didn’t own guns though; pistols and rifles were common among farmers and other civilians. However, because these types of firearms were dangerous and could be used to commit crimes, many people avoided using them. These laws prohibited carrying handguns outside of homes or businesses (which kept them from being used against innocent people), made it easier for law enforcement to confiscate weapons from criminals,and increased funding for safety initiatives like gun safekeeping programs. In 1847, after years of effort by municipal officials and citizens alike, handgun regulation finally came into effect throughout much of Alabama – making it legal for all citizens to own firearms without fear of prosecution or social stigma! By 1850, Gun Ownership in America had spread throughout much of America; rifle ownership was now becoming more common as well. Madison continued its growth during this time with various business opportunities available along with increasing population density which led to more housing developments being built near downtown areas . On December 5th Mississippians voted overwhelmingly (69% against) to secede from the Union under article V of the Constitution while also ratifying Missouri CompromiseAddition creating Kansas Territory with no slaves and slavery being permitted therein without their own admission into that territory; this action effectively ended Reconstruction in Alabama and across much northern Southern America including Georgia
