Leeds, Alabama is a small town in the US state of Alabama. The population was 3,693 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Mobile–Tensaw–Foley Metropolitan Statistical Area. Leeds is located in Baldwin County on the eastern border of Mobile County and it's just east of Interstate 10 and west of U.S. Route 11. According to the United States Census Bureau, Leeds has a total area of , all land. The name Leeds comes from "Leeds" which means "bridge over the river", according to one source (the village was founded in 1819). A second source says that 'leeds' were simply a place where people could gather for waterfowl hunting or gathering during winter months - this would make sense as there are several streams running through the town center including Old Leed Creek which empties into Mobile Bay nearby; and Leeds Branch which runs south-southwest out of town before joining Old Leed Creek again north-northwest of town near Rogers Park before emptying into Mobile Bay again near Fort Payne. According to legend, early settlers learned that they needed a name that would indicate their new home because they couldn't see it from where they stood while living on horseback or while walking around – so they settled on 'Leeds'. One account suggests that when one group arrived at what would become Leeds they saw an open field with no house in it, so they named their new home 'Old Leeds' after seeing this open field for the first time; however another account suggest that when one group arrived there were only two houses in sight but since everyone had brought food with them and there wasn’t any water available to drink until later in the day, they named their new home 'New Leeds'. So either way, eventually someone decided on 'Leeds' as their new hometown.' A post office called Leeds was established at present day Lisbon Road (later known as Manchester Rd) about 1854; however, it seems not to have been active much after that point due to lack of customers/ mail being sent out from here! In 1907 we find an ad for a lumber mill and general store together with homes situated along Lisbon Road – these properties must have been built shortly afterwards as nothing remains today between then & now! The current location of Bradford Hall was actually built circa 1925 by Prentice Lumber Company right next door to where Lisbon Road intersects Bolton Rd – so if you go back far enough you can actually SEE those old buildings still standing! From 1923 until 1954 Post Office business continued off Bolton Rd adjacent to Bradford Hall – so if you go back far enough you'll even find an extant mailbox from back then! Despite everything mentioned above…it's safe to say that most people who live here today definitely grew up within proximate vicinity!!! And don't forget about all those chickens!!!

The population was 9,787 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Birmingham-Hoover Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first permanent settlement in what would become Leeds occurred on July 10, 1821 when James Denton and his family set up a cabin along the Mobile River as they journeyed from Tennessee to try to find new land for themselves and their cattle. For many years, Leeds was one of Alabama's most successful small towns with its own post office, store, schoolhouse and several churches. In 1841, however, bad news arrived from Tennessee: The entire Creek Nation had been wiped out by force after an Indian war that year; all their homes were destroyed or taken by force and there was no chance for them to return home again. In response to this tragic event, citizens of Leeds organized into a town association which began looking for a new home for their community. After much searching they found a spot on the banks of the Cumberland River where they built what would become known as "the Town House" - still standing today as one of Yorkshire's most iconic landmarks! Upon its founding, "the Town House" became an important center for social activities within Leeds because it offered space for up to 25 people plus food storage and water fountains! This early incarnation of Leeds also served as a drop-off point for traders arriving in search of goods available nowhere else in Mississippi Territory! Over time more businesses cropped up around "the Town House", soon hosting such unique characters as cotton ginner John Brown (founder of Brown & Williamson Cigars) and local farmer J W Marriott who operated 2 million acres (8 million hectares)of farmland including present day Birmingham! These days you can find nearly everything that existed back then at Leeds' Heritage Museum - including furniture made from sustainable materials like bamboo! Many residents who resided near "the Town House" during its early years also played important roles later on in history - such as Oldham native Zachary Taylor who rose to become President Ulysses S Grant's Secretary Of War! With so many talented locals living nearby it’s no wonder that agriculture continued to be one of Yorkshire’s most successful industries throughout various periods – even thriving through difficult times like World War II when production plummeted due to lack of demand!
