On December 12th 2002nd Hurricane Wilma caused extensive damage to downtown Jacksonville including loss or destruction of many iconic buildings including Our Lady’s Cathedral; Block House Brewery; Masonic Temple; Filene's department store; Baptist Episcopal Church; Veterans Memorial Park Cemetery; Stonington Presbyterian Church[13]; Third Ward neighborhood park known today as Joe Gibbs Park [14]; much water damage throughout neighborhoods following high winds gusts over 100 mph
