The history of bipods can be traced back to the early 1800s when a company by the name of H.B. Sauer & Co. first began selling two-wheeled devices that could be used as crossbows. The success of these products led to other companies producing similar bipods, and in 1912, the patent for the first true bipod was filed by George Prentice and Alfred Kappecker. Bipods continued to be produced through World War II, and during this time they became known for their use in infantry units as well as aircraft cockpits. In 1945, bipods were retired from military service and replaced with artillery rounds capable of penetrating hard armor. After the war, many companies resumed production of bipods, but today there is only one manufacturer left making them commercially.

Jacksonville is a city in the U.S. state of Alabama, located on the Gulf of Mexico, about 30 miles (48 kilometers) southeast of Mobile and 30 miles (48 kilometers) northwest of Montgomery. As of the 2010 census, Jacksonville had a population of 102,871. The Jacksonville metropolitan area has a population of 1,377,000 as of 2019. In 1814, when Spain ceded Florida to United States under Treaty Of Paris following their defeat at Yorktown, Jacksonville became part of newly acquired Mobile County with a land area that included all present-day Baldwin County excepting western Strouds County which remained with Spain until 1898. A year later – after American forces completed occupation – General Andrew Jackson named it Jacksonborough after him due to his support for Jacksonian democracy at home and abroad[2]. A post office called Jacksonborough was established in 1817,[3] but no town sprang up until 1824 when James Molineaux donated land east side Broad Street between Third Avenue and Fourth Avenue for an incorporated town called Molineauxville[4]. In 1830 voters approved incorporation by issuing $5 per capita bonds—a first in America—to finance development plans including streetscape improvement, schools, county courthouse building and jail/ gaol construction[5]. But despite high voter turnout rates throughout much southeastern Alabama during this period,[6] nothing happened until 1840 when Daniel Webster offered $10 per day towards creating a new town called Websterston withinJacksonborough limits if any new sites were found within five years[7][8][9], which led to development along Second Street (now Veterans Boulevard)[10][11] before finally incorporating as Dover Township on December 16th 1845[12], becoming one municipality with total territory extending from downtown Mobile to eastern Baldwin County without having ever met! Although originally bypassed by Birmingham through I-565 (the so-called "Second Highway"), annexation into that larger city followed soon afterwards; making Jacksonville one not only among southeasternAlabama's largest municipalities but also one contiguous with Auburn Hills MI
