After the war ended in 1865, Hueytown declined due to heavy military activity in nearby Mobile Bayou and other factors. However, it slowly began to rebound during the late 1800s and into the 1900s thanks to new development around town and an increase in traffic. Today, Hueytown is one of America's most vibrant cities with a rich history dating back more than 160 years!
