Remington continued to make quality firearms until 1907 when they merged with Magnum Research to form Remington-Marlin Firearms Corporation. The new company became known for their bolt action rifles and shotguns as well as their innovative design of the self-loading rifle. In 1953, Remington developed the first successful fully automatic rifle, the AR-15. The company has since released a wide variety of firearms including assault rifles, handguns and sporting rifles.

Some interesting things about Hueytown include its historic courthouse which still stands today (although it is no longer used), a small park located just east of downtown called "Hueytown Park", and a few restaurants which serve up traditional Southern cuisine like hush puppies or yams
