Gun Swivels have been around since the 1800s and are considered a part of firearm history. They were originally designed to help shooters keep their guns in hand while they reloaded. When using any type of firearmcocking technique, always make sure that both hands are free so you can control all aspects of your shooting.

There is a long and proud history of gun swivels. Swivels have been used for centuries to adjust firearms, and they are still in use today. The first known guns with swivels were made in the 6th century BC by the Greeks. They were calledteles (τελευταίον), meaning "right-hand gun." In 1595, Leonardo da Vinci designed and built the world's first true revolving armory firearm, the Montero Pistol. This pistol featured a rotating barrel that could be rotated to fire any number of rounds simultaneously. It was so advanced that it remains one of the most unique weapons ever created. The popularity of firearms led to the development of other types of adjustable armaments, such as shotguns and rifle sights. The first guns with swivels were made in 1795 by Nicholas-Jacques Conte. A gun that could be rotated to aim in any direction was called a swivel gun. The rotate ability came about because the barrels of early cannons were not able to fit in the stock perfectly, so they had to be turned around.
The town of Homewood, Alabama was founded in 1868 by the merger of two small settlements, both located on the western edge of the then-census-designated region known as "Montgomery County." The new village was named for General James H. Carroll and his wife, Sarah Wells (née Humble). Homewood quickly became a center for cotton production and local politics. By 1881, it had a population of about 1,000 people and anvil factory. In that year, Congress passed the Soil Conservation and Domestic Allotment Act, which regulated agriculture in American regions with large plantations. As a result of this legislation, Homewood's cotton crop failed to meet expectations and the town's population declined over the next several years. In 1902, however, Homewood came together again toform what would become its most important civic organization: The Civic League of Montgomery County. This group lobbied for improved education opportunities for county residents and fought against encroachments on personal liberties by state officials. In 1907–08, they successfully opposed major changes to Montgomery County's zoning code that would have allowed white farmers to build more extensive farms in black neighborhoods. Despite these setbacks, Homewood continued to thrive through World War II as a manufacturing center for munitions products manufacturing aluminum cans and other military goods. After the war ended in 1945, many businesses closed down or merged into larger companies; but local citizens kept their community going by creating a number of recreational activities such as swimming pools (which were first established in 1946), hiking trails (first developed in 1949), tennis tournaments (founded in 1951), and chess clubs (founded in 1957). Today there are few physical reminders of post-war Homewood – only one street nameakes itself after earlier eras – but its spirit lives on through continuing cultural events hosted within its boundaries each year like homestyle cooking contests or art shows at local galleries/museums/etc., all while maintaining close ties with nearby towns like Decatur and Tuscaloosa
The town of Homewood, Alabama was founded in 1867 by Methodist missionaries. The community grew rapidly and soon had a population of over 1,000 residents. In 1907, the town became an incorporated municipality. In 1972, Homewood was renamed toPearland after its annexation by Pearland County.
