Bipedalism is an extinct species of ungulate that lived in the North American and Eurasian continents during the early Pleistocene epoch. It is known from fossils recovered from sites in Gulf Shores, Alabama, dating back to the Eocene epoch. The bipedal ungulate was a heavy land animal that typically weighed more than three hundred pounds and walked on two legs like most modern animals. The first evidence of bipedalism in the Gulf Shores area dates back to the Miocene epoch and was found among remains of a large herbivore called anotyptes africanus. This creature had hind legs that were positioned slightly behind its front legs, which suggests it likely walked on two legs like most other creatures of its time. However, there are several inconsistencies within this fossil record and it is still not clear whether or not bipedalism actually existed across much of Eurasia at this time. It wasn’t until later that further evidence began to accumulate for bipedalism in Gulf Shores area. During the Pliocene epoch, bones associated with a small deer-like creature were discovered near where modern day Gulf Shores sits. This discovery helped prove that one entity – probably a plant – had influenced human evolution over time by allowing humans to walk on two legs instead of four! While it’s still unclear if bipedalism truly did exist throughout much of Eurasia at this point, it’s safe to say that some form of it did exist in Gulf Shores area at some point!

Gulf Shores is a town in Hancock County, Alabama, United States. The population was 7,898 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Mobile–Auburn– Montgomery metropolitan area. The first post office in Gulf Shores was founded on December 12, 1847, by order of President James K. Polk. The present town site was laid out in 1869 by Dr. John Sibley and later named for Rear Admiral J.B. Gulf (1819-92). The community's first store opened its doors on May 1, 1870. In 1905 the name of the town was changed to Gulf Shores after purchase by Mrs. Elmira Biddle from an old family home east of Mobile Bayou which had been their summer home since before Indian Removal began in 1830s through 1840s Gulf Shores became a city when it incorporated as a municipality on November 1, 1957; it reverted to its original municipal form on July 1, 1972 when it reincorporated as a town again under the name that has stood since 1945 As one of the most heavily populated towns located within what is now known as Mobile and Baldwin counties seat areas throughout central Alabama during much of history - especially during antebellum times - many historic buildings have been preserved or restored in Gulf Shores including: Fort Brooke (1794), Good Hope Baptist Church (1824), Mount Vernon Schoolhouse (1857), First National Bank building(c 1881) and Good Hope Cemetery Extension (. . .)

Gulf Shores, Alabama is a city located in the Gulf of Mexico on the Mobile Bay. The area now known as Gulf Shores was first inhabited by the Choctaw and Chickasaw people. In 1819, General Andrew Jackson appointed Colonel James K. Polk to survey the area that would later become Gulf Shores. In 1865, General William Tuscaloosa awarded land to John Fetterman for $5,000 for a naval station on Mobile Bay which would serve as an important base for Confederate Naval operations during the American Civil War. The station was named Fort Worth after Texas Senator John Fetterman. During World War II, military installations were established at both Fort Worth and Gulf Shores in order to support Navy efforts in the Atlantic and Pacific oceans. The main purpose of these locations was amphibious warfare: ships were lowered into the bay to bombard enemy targets from shore positions or assault landing beaches with infantry and artillery forces while submarines operated offshore providing cover for naval operations. The city of Gulf Shores was formed when a group of citizens led by Mayor Hennepin moved from Athens, Alabama in 1907 to purchase land east of downtown Mobile proper on which they built their first housing stock called "The Gables". In 1916, they annexed what is today's County Park south of town along US-411/4th Street NW & west of I-95/US-431 (now US-411). The annexation increased its population from about 100 residents in 1916 to over 1,500 by 1937 when it became part ofMobile County. By 1942 there were more than 3,000 residents living in Gulf Shore proper alone; this number had grown significantly by 1957 when it joined Baldwin County as one unit within the new state ofAlabama under Governor George Wallace. At that time it had become one of the most heavily populated areas in Alabama outside Birmingham or Montgomery due largely to its location next door to Mobile Bay and easy access to commerce and jobs ashore while remaining relatively isolated inland until recently due primarily to lack of development opportunities ashore
Gulf Shores was founded in 1821 as a trading post on the Mobile River by J.D. McNaught and James Robertson. The town grew rapidly, becoming an important center for cotton production and shipping. In 1849, Gulf Shores became the capital of Alabama after being moved from Selma. The town was destroyed in a fire in 1861, but rebuilt quickly. After the Civil War, Gulf Shores grew even more prosperous, becoming an important hub for trade with the south and Mexico. In 1893, Gulf Shores was renamed Birmingham after its main financial backer, Andrew Mellon.
