The most important event that took place in Gardendale was the incorporation of the city on November 3, 1907. This was an event that marked a change for the city and for its citizens. In 1933, Driggs Manufacturing Company became one of the largest gunmakers in America and produced pistols for both military and law enforcement use as well as sporting purposes throughout much of North America. In 1957, Driggs merged with Colt Arms Company to form Colt Incorporated which continued producing guns until it ceased production in 1999
Gardendale, Alabama is a small town located in Mobile County, Alabama. The population was 1,754 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Mobile-Tivoli-Fairfield Combined Statistical Area. The name Gardendale comes from "garrison" and "dale" which are both terms for a pasture or meadow. The first settler in this area was James Daugherty in 1807. He came from Ireland and named his land after his father's home country, Ireland. The first churches were built here around 1820. By 1870 there were 20 churches in Gardendale with a population of 2,814 people. The cotton textile industry grew rapidly in Gardendale during the late 1800s and early 1900s thanks to the development of new machines that made it easier to produce more output per acre than ever before. Cotton mills were built all around Gardendale throughout this time, but the most famous one was called the Cotton Bowl Plantation Mills on White Street downtown. This plant processed more than half of all cotton produced in Mobile County during its heyday (1920-1940). During World War II, many local men worked on military teams who went into battle along side their countrymen across America and Europe. Some of these men are buried here such as Roy Catlett who died fighting at Normandy beachhead on D-Day; Eldon Hines who served as a bombardier aboard B-17 Flying Fortress Bomber aircraft flying over Germany during WWII; or Harry Schmidt who fought alongside Patton's Third Army near Rome Italy when that army invaded North Africa in 1944!

Browning further improved his design with the introduction of his bolt-action rifle, which featured an external magazine that allowed him to load multiple rounds at once without having to remove each round from its Magazine before shooting it again

Gardendale was established in 1881 and became a city on November 3, 1931. The first settler in Gardendale was John Ligonier and his family who came toMobile County in 1881 from Kentucky. For many years, Gardendale was known as simply "Gardendale". The name change may have been due to a problem with an existing spelling of the word "Garland" which had been used by some residents for over forty years. In 1892, William Ewing purchased land west of Gardendale and developed it into what is now called "Ewings Landing". He began construction on what would become known as the Gadsden Dam which helped create one of Mobile County's most important economic assets during the early 20th century. In 1916, Mayor Jock Mahoney dedicated Fountain Park at corner of Second and Third Streets after spending $5,000 to improve it from raw dirt to a well-maintained park that today includes six baseball diamondsbaugh lanesand two basketball courts. In 2007, City Council renamed Fountain Park Municipal Park in memory of Mayor Mahoney who died on October 15th that year at 78 years old.
