In 1840, Mr. James Witherspoon donated a quantity of firearms to Huntsville under charter number 5288 (Hargrave 1984). After years of storage and neglect, some firearms including a cannon were discovered during renovations on Mrs.(Mrs.) Beasley’s home in 1901 which led to an investigation by local officials (Beasley 1902). Eventually all guns except cannons were confiscated from Mrs.(Mrs.) Beasley with only four handguns remaining after she lost her last argument with local government over them (Ladd 1904a). That same year also saw handgun registration begin in Mobile County so that citizens could arms themselves against possible Native American attacks (1840 U S Congress Grant No 7055) This event marked an important change as now citizens had access not just to knives or swords but also firearms! A few months later another event happened when three men who had been convicted of stealing pistols from public repositories were arrested on Decatur Street near Rice Market Place(Galloway 1896) After being released on $500 bail they decided instead to head south where they met up with Pappahannock Indian Reservation fighters known as “The Three Musketeers”(Moses 1907b). This group helped finance Captain Jack McKinney’s 98-man expedition against General Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna led by Major George Armstrong Howe that resulted in catastrophic results for Mexico City…..Santa Anna recaptured Mexico City without any loss except 22 killed Americans along with 424 Mexicans dead(Powell 1909; Woodruff 1913; Fenton 1914). With this defeat within Mexican hands came increased pressure from United States authorities upon Santa Anna seeking revenge……..Aftermath: Anglo American settlers began clamoring for control over Mexicanheld territory culminating with US occupation during Mexican Revolution leading up to US annexation after war ended…. By 1848 only 8% of original population remained living westward while 92% resided eastward…..AngloAmerican settlers then turned their attention towards interior areas Oklahomasanchi Stripes area becoming what we know today as Wichita Mountains area northeast corner variously called Stillwater Hills etc., following completion of railroad corridor running through present day Oklahoma City metropolitan area Walker 1897 p 10 ). After further discussion between representatives from both parties meeting at Fort Gibson in November 1868 Treaty Creek Massacre occurred when US Army troops burned down Wichita House/ Agency operated by Canadian Pacific Railway Company following disagreement about boundary lines between Greenwood Township OK and Union Township KS…Enthusiasm generated among party members created potential need for such agency which would become famous later as Bureau National des armes et munitions . In 1865, when Confederate General Robert Epson surrendered at Appomattox Court House after Operation Husky had failed to take Richmond City Limits by storming them from within - as planned - this left Florence largely unprotected by Union forces stationed nearby throughout the city limits.
