Grant graduated from High School there. He later attended Stanford University where he earned his law degree and served as attorney general of Alabama from 1865 to 1868 under President Abraham Lincoln before becoming Secretary of War under Ulysses S. Grant during Reconstruction (1869-1871). During World War II Fairhopy played an important role in the production of munitions for the Allies while also providing support to German forces during the war effort through its military airfield operations at Grissom Field which remain today a popular tourist destination due to their exceptional aerial photos taken by Allied pilots during World War II. A major development that took place in FairhOPE during the 1990s was the construction of Interstate 20 which ran through town center creating a new economic sector that has helped spur redevelopment throughouttown since then including two new high school buildings, several restaurants/bars/cafés along First Avenue North, some office space, and more than $100 million worth of private investment over 10 years – all driven by increasing demand for services generated by I-20 itself!
