Gun targets have been a popular pastime in Eufaula, Alabama for many years. The town was home to the famous Eufaula Gun Club from 1881 to 1903. The club was established by two friends of each other, John and James Fenton. The first target shoot at the club took place on October 25, 1881. At that time, guns were not allowed on private property in Eufaula. The club continued to operate until 1903 when it closed its doors because of prohibition laws in Alabama. Eufaula is a small town in Alabama. It was founded in 1821 by the brothers Elijah and Micah Caldwell. The town was named for Eufaula, Alabama, a place in Tennessee where they had been born. The Caldwells were pioneers who first settled in what is now Mobile County, Alabama, in 1816. In 1821, the brothers founded their own town on the banks of the Etowah River just east of present-day Birmingham. They named it after their mother's birthplace, Eufaula, Alabama. The town quickly became an important center for trade and commerce. It was home to a bank, newspapers and stores. The Caldwells also built several homes in Eufaula which still stand today. In 1830, the Caldwells decided to move their business operations to what is now Birmingham because of political changes in Alabama that were affecting how much land could be developed without state approval. They opened up their new business headquarters at Fourth Street and Constitution Avenue nearnow known as Auburn University. The Caldwell family would continue to operate their businesses here until 1916 when they sold everything except some assets to Jepson Wire & Cable Company which remain active today as Wireworld Incorporated (Wiley). In 1865, Eufaula lost its status as an important commercial center due to Union military occupation during the American Civil War but slowly regained its former prominence due to its strong community spirit and entrepreneurship among its citizens. By 1900, however, it had decreased significantly in population size due tohill-billing from white residents until World War II caused it againto shrink rapidly with few permanent residents remaining by 1950 although there are occasional visits from visiting dignitaries such as Presidents George H W Bush and Bill Clinton over the years! Eufaula experienced significant growth during World War II with many Americans coming back home after serving overseas including men like Dick Cheney who later became CEO of Halliburton! In recent years there has been another influx of refugees from Syria especially given President Trump's travel ban which has led some people within our community to question whether or not this growth will continue under his successor

Eufaula is a small town in Alabama, located about 30 miles south of Montgomery. The population was 3,491 at the 2010 census. Eufaula is home to several colleges and universities, including Tuskegee University and Alabama State University. The town also has a large shopping district and a few restaurants. Eufaula was founded by Judge John Cushman in 1814 as an agricultural community on the then-new Mobile River floodplain near what is now downtown Eufaula. The name may be derived from the Alabaman word "uefau", meaning "fruitful." In 1824, Judge Cushman donated land to form the nucleus of today's downtown area. During much of its history, Eufaula was known for its slave trade traffic. In 1861, Confederate General Robert Haney ordered his forces stationed in nearby Selma to march on Eufaula to free Union slaves there; however, before they could arrive, Union troops destroyed most of the town's infrastructure and burned down all but one building. In 1865, when Mobile County was created from portions of Baldwin County (including Eufaula), Eufaula became part of that county. After Reconstruction ended in America in 1877, many black Americans moved into northern Alabama during this time period because race relations had improved there compared to southern areas controlled by white supremacists such as Klu Klux Klan members and segregationists. The post-World War II boom that followed helped revive local businesses and add jobs to the economy; however, some families lost their homes during the economic decline following the stock market crash of 2008 which caused statewide joblessness rates to spike throughout 2009-2010; these conditions led some businesses owners to consider closing their doors altogether rather than cope with difficult competition from outside forces seeking access to traditional American workforce opportunities while African Americans were strugglingoniafter years of systematic discrimination by state government entities such as education departments associated with Jim Crow Laws - which continued until well into 2012 when finally comprehensive civil rights legislation prohibiting public schools racially discriminating against students based on race passed through both houses after three years' worth of hearings chaired by then Ulysses S Grant's Secretary Of Education Amos Tilden - ended nearly two centuries since first African American man reached lower echelon educational institutions here within this country thus producing tangible benefits for black citizens long preying upon second class status due primarily theretofore due largelyto institutionalized racism perpetuatedby those entrusted with governmental power
