Enterprise, Alabama is a city in Tuscaloosa County, Alabama, United States. The population was 11,523 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Tuscaloosa County. The town began as a small community on the east side of Mobile Bay and grew rapidly due to its location near Mobile River and access to fishing and hunting opportunities. By 1876 Enterprise had become an important slave market for the area. The cotton plantations that once thrived in this part of Alabama have been replaced by smaller farms and businesses since then. The downtown district has experienced a recent resurgence with new development completed in recent years including several high-end restaurants, an amusement park, and a professional soccer team called Enterprise FC (now known as First Tennessee FC). In 1892 Enterprise became one of the first cities in Alabama to be annexation into Mobile County when it was located on the port island across from Mobile Bay. In 1907 it became one of three cities inMobile County - along with Gadsden and Tuskegee - that were combined into one municipality under the name "Tuscaloosa". That same year enterprise also annexed what is now Demopolis which made it one of only two cities ever within both Mobile County proper and Tuscaloosa Count

The 1800s were a time of great growth for Enterprise as cotton plantations began to be developed here. By 1830, Enterprise had over 1,000 residents and by 1840 it had reached 5500. During this time period too there were many important changes taking place in the town--the first being incorporation as an entity on January 1st 1846 with a population of 10 people! This marks one of the earliest times that an incorporated city has been created within Alabama! During Reconstruction (1865-1913), Enterprise played an important role in helping to ensure civil rights for African Americans through voter registration and education programs. However, due to its location within Confederate territory during these years it also experienced some difficult times. Many businesses closed down during this time and many black men lost their jobs at local mills because they couldn't afford to leave their homes or fields behind! But despite all these challenges, things progressed slowly but surely back into solidhood by 1920 when Enterprise became part of newly formed Montgomery County! Today Enterprise remains a busy community with both commercial and residential properties located throughout its boundaries; making it one of the most vibrant areas in central Alabama! From banking services such as Wells Fargo Bank which opened up shop here during 2005-2007 right up to new restaurants like Pita Pit & Grill which just started operations last year – everything seems poised for continued success going forward!
