The first guns were made of musketry grade steel, so it was necessary to clean them regularly. Gunsmiths would take a piece of steel and cut out a small hole at one end and fit the barrel into it. After taking it home he started using it on his rifle range near Decatur Alabama In 1903 Captain Pritchard donated another kit #2 to the town of Huntsville Alabama as part of their centennial celebration In 1938 Dr J W Powell donated his World War II Service Rifle Cleaning Kit which included parts for over 100 rifles That same year company number 4 changes hands again when H R White becomes owner Company 4 continued manufacturing kits until 1948 inclusive In 1949 company number 2 is sold to Mr & Mrs G C Brown who continue making them until they close their doors in 1951 . In 1957 Company 3 is formed by Mr L B Steele with model 603 Cleaning Kit which includes parts for shotguns only

Decatur is a city in Alabama, United States. The population was 34,753 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Decatur County. It is located on the east bank of the Etowah River, about west-northwest of Birmingham and south-southwest of Mobile. The history of Decatur dates back to 1827 when it was founded as Dothan by General James K. Polk and Colonel George Pickens as part of the Treaty of Paris after the American Civil War. The town became an important transportation hub because it served as both a staging point for goods coming downriver from Tennessee and also for travelers heading north to Mobile Bay, which lay to the east across Lake Pontchartrain. By 1879, Decatur had a population of 5,000 residents and was serving as an important center for cotton production in southern Alabama. In 1907, Decatür began construction on what would become its first professional school—the now University of Southern Alabama (USAL). USAL quickly became one of the most influential educational institutions in southeastern Alabama and remains so today. On November 1, 1958, two days after his inauguration as president of Mexico City–based Grupo Salinas SRL., Enrique Peña Nieto returned to Mexico City with plans to establish himself there as an international political figure following his election victory that July; however he never moved permanently to Mexico City but instead spent his last few years living in Gaudi’s old home on Avenida Revolución – until he died six months later aged 83 at age 90 due to complications from pneumonia). In 1984, USAL merged with Lamar University (a Baptist college) creating one entity known today as ULTM College System which serves students throughout southeast Alabama including portions outside Of Montgomery proper where it operates various buildings including satellite campuses in Cullman and Tuscaloosa; all these operations are managed by ULTM College System through its nine regional colleges & universities: Birmingham–Jeffersonville; Cullman–Marietta; Montgomery–Dothan; Prattville–Montgomery; Rome/Birmingham International Airport; Selma/Atmore; Tuskegee Air Force Base.–and Talladega Valley Community College.–Today nearly allULTM college systems members except Sewell Area Community College are located within or adjacent thereto: Huntsville (Alabama State University), Opelousas (Lamar University), Madison (University Drive Technical Institute), Enterprise (Cartershaftee Community College), Phenix City (Charter Township community college). Decatur was a town in Alabama, United States for over seventy years. It is now part of Decatur County. The town was founded by Captain John Dickey on the east side of Mobile Bay, in 1819. It grew rapidly due to its location on the navigable river and its access to cotton plantations. By 1829, Decatur had a population of 2,500 people. In 1836, the town was burned by Ulysses S. Grant during his march through Alabama to take Atlanta from the Confederacy. The burned-down buildings and evidence of what happened makes it one of the most famous episodes in American history. The first white person to live in Decatur was Captain John Dickey, who arrived in 1819 from Ireland with fourteen other passengers on board the brig " Occident". He built a cabin near where he now lives on East Bayou Road (now Courtland Boulevard). When Mobile Bay became an Indian Territory after the Treaty of Fort Jackson in 1818, Dickey sent his family across Mexico River into Indian Territory so they could avoid being taken captive as slaves by their owners back home. After living among Native Americans for several years, including some at Tocokonka Creek (near present-day Vestavia Hills), Dickey decided that Mobile would be his new home and started trading goods with them along the bayous between Spanish Fork and Cahaba Rivers. In 1830 he married Sarah Jane White; they had two children: Johnathan (born 1830) and Sally (born 1834). Captain John Dickey's daughter Sally Key helped her father build a post office near where she currently lives on East Bayou Road around 1840 which later became known as Decatur Post Office #1 since it served as such until 1865 when it moved to Folkston Post Office #2 located just south of downtown Decatur today . Captain John Dickey also donated land north of Muskegon Street east of East Bayou road for what is today Pioneer Cemetery . The first Baptist church built in Alabama was located at this spot about 1850’s . Many businesses were established here including grocery stores , hardware stores etc before consolidation took place throughout many small towns throughout south central Alabama starting about 1900 .... Continued growth led to incorporation as a city by act dated November 10th 1907 following passage by state legislature authorizing election by vote only for members thereof ..... Population reached 538 residents as late 1917 ...... Government services were provided primarily through City Marshal service ................. decurately chartered January 1st 1911 .......... The city government ceased operations October 25th 1922 .......... New Orleans tornado damage caused $5 million worth damage within city limits .............. Unfortunately much destruction took place during 1921 pandemic leading to loss or replacementof entire Business District .................. iceland hurricane hit southeast AL August 1928 causing severe damage ............. Today's skyline view looking toward downtown can be seen from an observation deck atop nearby Veterans Memorial Hospital
