Daphne, Alabama is a small town in the northcentral part of Alabama. It is located on the Flint River and has a population of about 26,000 people. The city was named after General Alexander Stephens, who served as US President from 1857 to 1861. Daphne was incorporated in 1871 and became an official city in 1907. In 1926, Professor John Logsdon of Vanderbilt University developed the first practical monochromatic photo camera with three lenses that could be combined for use with a single exposure device called the "Logsdon Camera." This camera had an extremely large negative size but it used two filters - one to create black-and-white prints and another to create color prints. During World War II, Daphne became known as "The Arsenal of Democracy" due to its production of munitions such as aluminum cans and rubber tires. After the war ended, however, jobs dried up in the city and crime increased. In 1962, Mayor Don Ladd announced plans to demolish all of the downtown buildings in order to make way for new development. The plan caused significant outcry from the community and led to his ouster from office two years later. In 1967, African Americans were given voting rights by Congress under the Voting Rights Act of 1965 which helped spur development in Daphne again. Today, Daphne is home to several businesses such as Philips Lighting Company which manufactures light bulbs and lamps; Coca-Cola Bottling Company; Ford Motor Company; JBL Audio/Video Systems Inc.; Tyson's Chicken Restaurant; Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Co., Inc.; Radio Corporationof America (RCA) United Artists Records Division; Sears Holdings Corp.; Sunoco Chemical Company Inc.; Toys “R” Us Children’s Store

Daphne, Alabama is a small town located in rural Jefferson County, Alabama. The population was 3,874 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Decatur, Alabama Metropolitan Statistical Area. Daphne was founded in 1871 by Rev. John Dickson and named for his wife Daphne (née Hargrave). The first post office opened in 1872. By 1902 it had increased to 10 buildings with a population of 20 people. During the 1930s many businesses closed because of the Depression; however, the community bounced back during World War II with an influx of soldiers and their families who brought new life to the town. The post-war period saw growth as Daphne became home to several factories that produced clothing, shoes, truckry supplies and other industrial products such as plastics and tires. However, due to changes in technology over the years and competition from other towns in Jefferson County, Daphne has seen its share of economic decline over time including periods where it has been underpopulated and others when it has been virtually silent due to lack of development or investment by outside interests. In recent years there have been efforts made by local officials to revive the once struggling town which include marketing it as a tourism destination for events such as arts festivals and picnics along with investments into infrastructure such as roads and water systems that have seen improvements since 2006 when city officials created a marketing strategy for revitalization known as "One Hundred Years". The goal is for Daphne to achieve self-sufficiency within five years through various economic development initiatives while also working towards adding more than 100 jobs onto its current workforce; all while preserving significant cultural assets including its historic downtown district which remains one of the most vibrant in central Jefferson County today.

OLT is a type of semiconductorlight tube that uses organic molecules as active layers rather than metal plates or vacuum tubes like those used earlier in optical history. This allows more flexibility in how it is used, as it can be controlled in many ways including brightness and color saturation
In 1897, a Danish scientist named Ole Rønnow patented the idea of using light to communicate. This was followed by General Electric in 1903 and Telephone, Telegraph and Radio Company (TTC) in 1906.

The early settlers of Daphne were farmers who raised cotton and other crops. They began to build homes in the late 1800s, when they realized that this area had potential for growth due to its location near railroad tracks and ports. By 1930, there were over 100 businesses in Daphne with a combined payroll value of $27 million dollars. The economy changed after World War II when government jobs became scarce across America following the war responsible for building roads and bridges across country; many businesses closed due to this change in fortunes. However, since 1980s when new developments have started to take root throughout downtown Daphne including an art gallery, shopping mall and high school district office complex called Renaissance Place.,the community has been slowly rebound from its recessionary times
