Cullman, Alabama is a city in the U.S. state of Alabama and the county seat of Cullman County. The population was 47,225 at the 2010 census, making it the third most populous city in Alabama after Birmingham and Mobile. It is also one of the largest cities in Montgomery County. Cullman is located on the Flint River, which bisects the city center from north to south. The first known settlement in what is now Cullman was by Creek Indians on land they hadDiscoverd along their route from Pensacola through Opelika to Cahokia during their 18th century trek through central Alabama. By 1800, white men had founded a thriving town on land granted them by President James K. Polk as part of a larger Indian-owned area within what is now Montgomery County including present day Cullman and parts of Hoover, Decatur and Florence Counties. In 1821, following Mexican War victory at Palo Alto over Ulysses S Grant’s forces led by General Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna, American settlers began moving into this newly acquired area and soon established taverns, stores and churches that grew into an agricultural community with over 150 homes by 1830 In 1835–36 (the “Flint River Campaign”), Union troops under Major General Lew Wallace stormed Mobile Bayou foraging grounds west of town where they discovered rich silver deposits beneath the bayou fluvial bed – opening up what would become one of America’s leading mining districts Wallace named his new post “Cullman” after then-Senator John Crain (D-Ohio) who helped lead Congress's effort to provide military assistance to President Andrew Johnson as he faced southern Rebellion attempts

Cullman is an unincorporated community in Marshall County, Alabama, United States. The population was 1,820 at the 2010 census. Cullman is located on U.S. Route 431 northeast of Decatur and west of Birmingham. It is part of the Huntsville–Decatur Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first white person to live in Cullman was James Witherspoon who settled there in 1819. Cullman was named for General Andrew Culloden who fought against the Creek Nation during the American Revolutionary War and died at the battle of Bunker Hill in 1775. Cullomans original settlers were Presbyterian refugees from Scotland who came overland through Tennessee en route to what is now Alabama in 1819 and attacked a group of Cherokee Indians but were unsuccessful because they had no firearms and only hand grenades with which to attack. A post office called Cullomans was established in 1827, and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1930. In 1907, Cullomans Improvement Association built a two-story schoolhouse which still stands today as one of the town's most distinctive features. In 1927, Judge J C Hogg purchased 3 acres (1 ha) near present day Culloman for $5 per acre ($/ha). This lot became known as "Hogg's Field". The first crop grown on this land was corn which grew well due to good irrigation techniques then being developed by Judge Hogg himself using his own personal water system that he installed himself illegally on his property back then! An unofficial map published by author John Dyer gives an idea about how much land surrounded by new homes has changed since 1927 when Hogg's Field landed within city limits today: Dyer said that although he could not find any evidence that suggests Judge Hogg ever abandoned or damaged his property beyond simply reselling it again after moving out of state, "the mere suggestion seems too suggestive not to pursue." A public garden exists adjacent to modern day Hulltown Elementary School off US 431 just outside Hulltown Village whereJudge J C Hoggle used to play ball with neighborhood children before continuing farming operations across US 431 - now home to some rather large trees... generations later people still go there!

These shoulder straps were eventually replaced by adjustable leather belts in 1940s after further research into how best to protect troops against weapon accidents while carrying artillery ammunition through snowstorms or other weather conditions
