On January 15th 1915 (following World War I), Mayor James Fenton announced that both City Hall Annexes - located on Cedar Avenue inside the Municipal limits - would be sold complete with all movedandise including furniture, equipment and other civic items which could not be stored anywhere else because they were essential to support city operations during wartime while also providing an opportunity for citizens to purchase these valuable assets at fair prices! The annexes served as home base for various governmental departments during peacetime while also serving as living quarters for mayors during wartime since there was no way to large enough building inside Municipal Limits without running afoul of Army troops stationed nearby who often confiscated property deemed useless or too dangerous to store outside! By 1924 all annexes except City Hall had been sold off but City Hall still stood vacant due to lack of funds necessary to move everything inside! It wasn't until 1936 that finally Council moved into new facilities adjacent thereto across Second Avenue from old City Hall Annexe which served them until 1961 when they decided towardsmoving back into old building which eventually collapsed due To arson in 1984!. It wasn't until 2006 when then Mayor Art Acevedo announced plans for restoration/reconstruction/brand new construction aimed at restoring/enhancing functionality/historic atmosphere around oldCityHallAvenue thereby bringing back active civic functions once again within historic boundaries OF CULLMAN CITY LIMITS!!! With Federal officials blessing along with assistance from local boosters we have quickly begun planning our project dubbed “Cullmen Restoration & revitalization” !!
