At Center Point Shooting Club, we take pride in our history of providing safety and shooting opportunities to all who visit. Our club has been operating since 1907 and during that time, we’ve continued to provide quality shooting experiences at an affordable price. In 1903, the first handgun training school in Alabama was opened by then-Governor George Wallace. The school taught handguns for police officers and military personnel and also provided instruction on how to clean and maintain firearms. It operated until the early 1960s when it was moved to what is now the Center Point Shooting Complex. In 1957, center point became one of the first areas in Alabama to offer firearm training under state law. That same year saw the opening of the statewide NRA Pistol Training School which offered handgun training as well as shotgun, rifle and pistol courses. In 1969, NRA Pistol Training School moved into its current location on Old Fort Road with original equipment from the old Wallace Shooting Schoolbuilding which had been used as a munitions depot prior to that date. Center Point is a small town in Webster County, Alabama, United States. The population was 1,711 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Huntsville–Decatur metropolitan area. The first people to live in Center Point were the Creek Indians who inhabited the area before white settlement began. A post office was established in 1814, and by 1821 there were four houses on the east side of what is now U.S. Route 90. The community name was given to it by General James Hogg during his Expedition against Mobile Bay in 1819-20 because of its location at an important point on that bay's coast. In 1829, a sawmill and grist mill were built near the present site of Center Point for use by local farmer John Witherspoon. By 1830, Centre Point had expanded beyond just a farming village into what is now a town with a population of around 150 people (excluding Indian residents). In 1837, John Covington donated land south of Center Point for what would become Huntsville College; this helped make CenterPoint one of the most developed communities in Webster County when it first started up as a town. The early years of Huntsville College were difficult due to economic conditions caused by prices being higher than normal for goods produced within miles of downtown Huntsville and rural areas across Alabama at that time. However, over time these difficulties have slowly dissipated and todayHuntsville College play an essential role in impacting many aspects of life in CenterPoint including education and career opportunities for locals as well as students from throughout Southeast Alabama and even abroad who attend our esteemed institution! Today's center point has come through multiple changes over time including growth in businesses such as restaurants, retail stores etc., annexation or incorporation into other municipalities like Decatur orMadison County which has allowed us to keep our core values while growing with new faces! We are proud to be home to some amazing organizations such as PRAVE (Pioneering Arts & Education Voucher program), CENTERPOINT UNITED METHODIST CHURCH (a member congregation since 1916), CENTERPOINT United Methodist Church edu-clubs like STEAMWORKS (STEM Technology Industry Association) and more!

Center Point is a small town in Montgomery County, Alabama, United States. The population was 914 at the 2010 census. Center Point is located on the banks of the Chattahoochee River and is part of the Birmingham–Hoover Metropolitan Area. The first settlers in what would become Center Point were Emory and Henry Smith who came to the area in 1825. In 1830, John Fenton established a log cabin on land that became home to many pioneer families including those from Centre Point. Fenton was one of the founders of Montgomery County and later served as its first Judge. In 1837, Isaac Watts founded an agricultural society called The Friends of Agriculture which aimed to promote farming methods and improve soil conditions in central Alabama. The society's first president was John Wilkinson. In 1840, James Hinton donated land for a Methodist church which would eventually become First Baptist Church. In 1853, two brothers named Levi partnered with their father-in-law William Goodloe to open what would become Goodloe & Company grocery store on Main Street in Center Point. The store soon became one of Montgomery County's most popular businesses and produced both groceries and locally made goods such as lace, jewelry, hats and saddles. It also hosted community meetings which helped develop important local civic institutions such as schools, churches and fire departments. In 1865, Andrew Johnson served as Mayor of Montgomery County before being elected President in November that year – his only term in office after being elected twice as a Congressman (1845-1849). Upon taking office he ordered county officials to begin planning for downtown development which would lead to the creation of Center Point redevelopment project which began under his guidance in 1968 . Center Point has seen several significant events throughout its history; these include: becoming attached to Birmingham by vowing not to secede following the American Civil War; participation in post-war Reconstruction; growth during World War II due largely to military housing developments funded by General Motors; decline beginning around 1990s related primarily to demographics changes brought about by suburbanization within city limits; reconnection with downtown Birmingham during various revitalization efforts over time culminating with current Plaza Place development . center point alabama
The town of Center Point was founded in 1823 by James C. Watkins and his wife, Sarah. The town was named after the center point on the Blount River where they first settled. In 1828, Center Point became a county seat and it remained so until 1925.
