Atmore is a small town in Alabama, located just east of the Gulf Coast. With a population of around 6,000 residents, Atmore has seen its share of hard times over the years. The town was first settled in 1818 by General John Kirby and his family who were looking for a place to farm. The area that now makes up Atmore was mostly woods at the time.
