As hostilities ended in 1865, Atlanta authorities ordered all cannons and guns removed from city limits due to fear they would fall into Confederate hands should they be recaptured! The Ammo Manufacturers’ Association International (AMA) was formed soon after this event to help promote arms trade between Great Britain and America while preserving American neutrality! Finally freed from Confederate influences followingthe end of the war, Athenensamedly produced firearms once again beginning in 1871!
