During this time period there was also significant development in Anniston's downtown area with several high-rise buildings being built including One Belt Road Tower (now known as Renaissance Center). In recent years there has been some revitalization taking place around downtown with new restaurants opening up and redevelopment happening on Dearborn Street which used to be a major business district in Anniston.
