When handguns were designed in the 1800s, they were based on the hanger system. This system involved a handgun being attached to a stock with either an elastic band or a piece of cloth. The gun could then be fired by simply putting your hand over the muzzle and pulling back on the handle. One of the first handguns to use this type of grip was the Smith & Wesson Model 6C revolver. This weapon was developed in 1887 and it featured a cocking handle that was located at the front of the gun. The gun could be fired by taking your hand off of the muzzle and pulling back on the handle, which caused tension in between your fingers and thumb as you pulled back. This action created increased accuracy because there was no need for you to keep your hand close to the muzzle in order to fire. The Handgun Choke System was introduced into service with Smith & Wesson Model 9 pistols in 1928. This system utilized a different type of grip than what had been used before and it consisted of four metal plates that rested against each other just behind the trigger guard. These plates prevented your hand from getting too close to the muzzle while firing, which gave you more control over how well your gun functioned. The Gun Choke System continued to be used withSmith & Wesson Model 9s until 1934 when it was replaced by another technology, called “Pump-Action” firearms. This technology allowed you to hold onto your firearm much more tightly during firing because it utilized an oil-filled chamber that functioned like a shotgun magazine. By using this method, you didn’t have to worry about having your hands free once you got started shooting since all you needed were your fingers and palms!

In 1865, after Montgomery had become an independent slaveholding state following its secession from the Confederacy,[11], Alfred Troup organized a group of Texans who left cotton mills behind them inMobile Countyto travel north and offer assistance to Unionists fighting against slavery[12], which led to Albertville becoming known as "the Homespun Capital" during this time period because much of what people here produced came from their homes or families back home.[13]:269–271 In 1903 Albertson Brothers grocery store opened its doors along what is now First Street near downtown Albertville serving as one of the first grocery stores outsideof Birmingham or Huntsville
