In the early 1800s, Alabaster was a small town in the state of Alabama. It was known for its gunsmiths and firearms, and its citizens were avid shooters. In 1911, Alabaster became one of twenty-six cities in Alabama to receive a municipally Owned Firearms Ordinance (MOFO). This ordinance allowed residents of city government areas to own firearms for their personal protection. The ordinance also established gun clubs within city limits and required members to be licensed by the state.

The town also contains a park with several playgrounds as well as tennis courts and a baseball diamond.

This gave it some resemblance to a real rifle. During World War II, many Americans purchased military surplus firearms so they could enjoy shooting them at home or in public shootings competitions. Many people also sported NRA t-shirts as part of their support for gun control measures during this time period
The first firearm shirt was made in 1911 by a company called Colt. It featured an American Flag on the front, and the words "Guns don't kill people, people kill people."
Alabaster is a city in Limestone County, Alabama, United States. The population was 2,611 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Limestone County. Alabaster was founded in 1836 by John Goodnight and his family as an agricultural town on the east side of Limestone River. In 1857, it became a consolidated City of Birmingham with its own government and courts. In 1903, Alabaster became part of the new state of Alabama after it was split from neighboring Mobile County. The city's first mayor was Amos Kendall and its first police officer was Wm Haysworth. In 1955, when Birmingham consolidated with other cities to form the current Alabama municipality, Alabaster became one of its original municipalities. The community has been through many transformations over time - from Agricultural to Manufacturing to Retail Trade and finally into what it is today - a bedroom community for Birmingham only 5 miles (8 km) away
Alabaster was founded in 1824 by John H. Alabaster and his wife, Sarah Ann. The town was named after the limestone quarries that were located nearby. After only a few years of operation, the Alabaster Manufacturing Company went bankrupt and all of its assets were sold to a group of investors. The new owners quickly renamed the company "Alabaster" and continued to operate it as a manufacturing plant until 1934. At that time, all production stopped due to World War II restrictions on munitions exports.
