O'Fallon, Missouri is a town in southern Missouri. It was founded in 1836 by Daniel Boone and his wife Rachel. The town was named for General James O'Farrell, who fought in the Mexican-American War. O'Farrell's brother-in-law, Elijah White, helped to plat the town on land that he had purchased from the Osage Indians. The first store in O'Fallon opened its doors in 1839. By 1840, there were six businesses in O'Fallon. In 1845, the Union Pacific Railroad arrived in this area and began construction of a railway line through central Missouri. The railroad brought with it new settlers and created a demand for goods and services that would drive local businesses out of business. Businesses closed down one after another until only two remain today: White's grocery store and First National Bank. The end of World War II led to an influx of people into Missouri due to wartime shortages of food and materials. This increased demand for goods and services made local businesses unable to compete. Businesses such as White's grocery store closed their doors for good in 1951; First National Bank followed suit two years later. Today, only a sign remains at the former bank reading "First National Bank." Despite this setback, members of the community have worked tirelessly to keep alive downtown O'Fallon as well as revive several local shops including White's Grocery Store and First National Bank which are now open again thanks to community support

O'Fallon, Mo., is a small town located in Warren County, Missouri, United States. The population was 1,827 at the 2010 census. It is part of the St. Louis metropolitan area. O'Fallon was founded by Irish-Americans in 1868 on the banks of the Missouri River. O'Fallon has been called "the smallest town in America" and "a forgotten city". The town's ZIP code is 63622. The first settler in what would become O'Fallon was John Fenton who arrived with his family from County Clare, Ireland on May 9, 1868. Fenton named his property Old Green Oaks and built a cabin there on October 2nd of that year. He became one of the first white men to live permanently in what would be known as O’Fallon Township . In 1870 four more families moved into the township; these were Michael Mullen (from Derry Mayo), Jeremiah Byrne (of Wexfordshire Ireland), Daniel Sheehan (of Kerry Island) and Cornelius Keane (of Corktown). The first school bus service to serve this small community began service on November 5th, 1971! On December 15th of that same year President Richard Nixon visited O’ Fallon for a brief stopover while en route to Springfield, Mo., where he would deliver an address before Congress about proposed changes to our social security system which were then being considered by both Houses of Congress prior to their passage into law. One day after Mr. Nixon's visit local residents gathered around their fireplaces listening attentively as Pte First Class William Hutton gave them an account of how American forces had liberated Manila from Spanish rule just days earlier only hours after they had taken control! On that particular evening all ears were also attentive when Mrs. Geraldine Smith shared her unique recipe for apple pie! A post office opened in 1870 under the name Post Office #1 but it closed operations within two years due to financial difficulties caused by Ohio State's involvement in the American Civil War! In 1872 mail was delivered through wagon trains traveling overland from Cairo via Independence and Union City arriving at Main Street Station just west of present day First Avenue & Truman Road . Afterraham Wernick established a grocery store at 210 S Main near Present day Second Ave & Elmira Rd which later merged into Safeway Incorporated . Arthur Ladd opened a gas station/market at 314 N Main soon followed by Kmart Supercenter #2 next door across Elmira Rd from Safeway which later merged into Federated Department Stores company prior to its liquidation in 1984 . Partially because of this large volume of retail traffic Kmart Supercenter was converted into apartments starting on July 1st 1994 units numbering approximately 455!!!!!! By late 1990s most businesses have either closed or relocated leaving only one active business: White Castle Donuts !!!!!
O'Fallon was founded in 1827 by James O'Fallon and his wife, Margaret. It was originally called "Manchester." The town became a tiny farming community with only a few homes and businesses. But over the years, O'Fallon's economy grew rapidly because of its location on the National Road, which helped it get access to good jobs in nearby cities. In 1860, O'Fallon had about 100 residents and 20 businesses. By 1920, the town had grown to 1,500 residents and 60 businesses. Over the years, many new subdivisions were developed in O'Fallon; some remain popular today. The original courthouse still stands as one of the most striking examples of early American architecture in town.
