The growth of industry led to increasing competition for limited financial resources which eventually resulted in consolidation within industries throughout much of Missouri during this time period but also helped contribute to O'Fallon's current status as one of Mo.'s most vibrant communities today! During World War II many blue-collar jobs went overseas; however many residents found work serving food or offering services such as janitorial work or lawn care through local organizations such as American Legion posts or Amish groups who lived near schools catering to these troops during wartime shortages elsewhere in Mo.'s economy due largely to government interventionism during this time period which often favored industrial over agricultural production while overlooking rural towns/cities like O'.Farrell which were being left behind economically due largely to lack thereof federal investment!

In 1848, the O'Fallsons donated land to form a city, which began designation as "O'Fallon" on November 1, 1850. The city became an important center for trade and commerce in early Kansas Territory. In 1861, O'Fallon was hit hard by the American Civil War when Union forces moved through the area and destroyed much of downtown. However, the citizens of O'Fallon persevered and rebuilt their community. By 1865, O'Fallson had regained its former status as a vibrant city with several high-profile businesses including a flour mill, cotton gin, sawmill, blacksmith shop and post office. During Reconstruction times (1868-1877), many African Americans migrated to O’Fallon from other parts of Missouri in search of opportunity. This period is often referred to as "The Ghetto Years." After Reconstruction ended in 1877, many African Americans were again forced out of their homes due to racism in the United States. However, despite some challenges during this time period for blacks in general and black residents of O’Fallon specifically, overall life expectancy was much higher than it is today among white residents living within similar zip codes across America; note that this includes areas such as Ferguson MO where race continues to be an issue).
