By 1922 however, muzzleloader manufacturers had developed new designs that incorporated choke barrels into their weapons which made them much more effective at restricting free movement than traditional rifle ammunition products did before them. The use of chokeguns continued throughout World War II until 1945 when they were finally phased out in favor of machine guns due to their high recoil and potential fordamage if fired prematurely. Many choking guns still remain on display within museums around the world though most are now obsolete relics or have been replaced by standard firearms

O'Fallon, MO is a small town in Johnson County, Missouri, United States. The population was 1,811 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Kansas City metropolitan area. O'Fallon was founded in 1836 by Irish settlers and has been an active community since that time. The first settler in what became O'Fallon Township was Fenton Murphy who arrived in 1836. He named his new settlement for his native land - "O'Farrell" meaning "the Shannon Land." By 1840, all but two of the original colonists had died from hard times and famine brought on by the Panic of 1837. A group led by John Lawless arrived in October 1840 and began to build a log cabin on what would become known as Lawless Hillock (later renamed Murphy's Grove). They were followed by others over the next few years until there were five families living atMurphy's Grove: seven men, three women and twenty-six children. According to local legend, one evening when it was getting late and no one could be found to carry firewood into the woods for supper, some friendly Indians provided dinner instead! This account may have been apocryphal but it does serve as a reminder that early pioneer life was often difficult and full of challenges! Although many pioneers left O'Fallon for other settlements during the 1850s due to lack of available land or religious reasons (mostly because of prohibition), most residents remain connected with their community through various cultural experiences and activities such as music festivals, art shows/exhibits or just socializing around town square on Saturday mornings. In 1902, Mayor John Hickey designated Memorial Day as an official day dedicated to our community’s history – a day we enjoy today more than ever before! The oldest surviving building still standing in O’Fallon is the old Post Office which served from 1882-1890 housed both postmasters until consolidation with Johnson County seat Rolla made this office unnecessary and finally vacated in 1966. Today there are several businesses located within walking distance including Subway & Pizza Place; Kroger; Dunkin Donuts; Applebees; Piggly Wiggly; Jiffy Lube; Safeway Supercenter; Walmart Supercenter; Fifth Third Bank branch;; Chamber Of Commerce Building;; Masonic Lodge #2;; Presbyterian Church;; Baptist Church;; Central School District No 2

O'Fallon was founded in 1837 by Irish immigrants who started a distillery and corn mill. The town grew rapidly due to its location on the Temperance River which made it an attractive destination for transportation and trade. Ranches and farms dotted the landscape until the early 20th century when production of whiskey ceased in O'Fallon. Today, O'Fallon is a small community with few businesses open other than grocery stores and restaurants. However, its history remains rich as it played an important role in American culture during the late 19th century and early 20th century.
On October 20, 1863, Union General Ulysses S. Grant arrived in O'Fallon, Missouri to lead the Union army into what would be known as the Civil War. The city was originally named Fayetteville but changed its name to honor General Grant on October 21st.
