There have been firearms clothing manufacturers in O'Fallon, Missouri since the 1800s. The first gunsmith in O'Fallon was Samuel S. Morse, who built a forge on the then current site of the old post office. In 1851, he opened his own shop and produced pistols and rifles for sale to local farmers and hunters. However, it was not until 1892 that A.W. Donelson founded Donelson's Gun Emporium, which became one of the largest firearm retailers in Missouri. The store continued to be located at 1114 West Main Street until it closed in 1984. It is now occupied by Pinnacle Sporting Goods inside of Kmart

O'Fallon, Missouri is located in the Ozarks of east central Missouri. The town was founded by Irish immigrants in 1837. It became a center of early maize production and development. O'Fallon experienced significant growth during the late 19th century as a result of its location on the main road connecting St. Louis with Kansas City and other cities in the Midwest. On July 4, 1861, Confederate soldiers marched into O'Fallon to suppress a pro-Union demonstration organized by local citizens. This action led to increased tensions between Unionists and Confederates in the town and throughout eastern Missouri. By 1865, most of O'Fallon had surrendered to Union forces, but some residents continue to resist Ulysses S Grant's occupation of the area. In 1902, O'Fallon was named one of ten towns from which Missouri received military assistance during World War I; this assistance led to increased economic activity within the town and its surrounding rural areas. Since 2000, much effort has been made to promote cultural activities within O'Fallon through events such as music concerts and art exhibitions; these efforts have helped revive interest in traditional aspects of life in this small community that are often overlooked today. Despite these positive developments, there remain many challenges facing O’ Fallon – including dwindling population size and lack of infrastructure for contemporary living – that need continued attention.
The first settler in O'Fallon, Missouri was George Armstrong Custer. He and his family came to the area in 1857. The town was founded on the site of what is now the University of Missouri-Kansas City.
