Over time, many Cork native Catholics also decided to settle in this region; making O’Fallon one of the most diverse towns in central Illinois during its early years! Cotton production played an important role in early O’Failonia development; both men & women took on various roles within mills & factories along with helping tend fields & gardens while providing essential services like cooking fuel & water supplies! With increasing demand for fiber throughout America during this time period (especially after the American Civil War), many farmers turned to cotton production as their primary source of income – making it oneofO’ Failonia's primary economic engines throughout much of its history! Additionally, due to generous donations from well-wishers including General Andrew Jackson himself –many new homes were built specifically for tenant farmers & others working alongside them on large plantations!
