Despite this obstacle, village hall township has become an important center for economic development within central Illinois due to its location close enough to major highways as well as its diversity of businesses which include restaurants, retail stores, office space and manufacturing plants. Today's O'Fallon is home to a diverse community with over 350 residents who are responsible for maintaining public infrastructure such as schools and roads while also operating their own businesses. Thanks largely to village hall township's role as an important center for economic development within central Illinois there is continued growth potential for this small town-turned-village with plans for additional housing developments (including a planned master plan that would increase density along busy streets) as well as new employment opportunities available throughout winter months when residents are unable or unwillingto travel outside their town limits
O'Fallon was founded by John and Eliza O'Fallon in 1827. The town was originally named after the two brothers, but it was renamed in honor of General Ulysses S. Grant during the American Civil War. The town grew rapidly during the early 1800s, becoming one of the largest in Illinois. In 1871, O'Fallon became a city and remains so to this day.
