Today, Racetrack Boulevard Speedway Park Parkway still hosts events for cars and motorcycles every weekend during summertime including concerts and amusement park rides! Today's economy is largely based on agriculture; however there are also some businesses such as a grain elevator and two schools located here - Superior Community High School (grades 10-12) which has been ranked #2 in WI for graduation rates according to US News & World Report rankings 2019*, while also being one of only three public high schools in WI to be named “best” by “GreatSchoolsUSA”* since 2018*.

In addition to its natural resources, superior also enjoyed some commerical success during its early years. For example, Smith Manufacturing company became one of America's leading producers of radios shortly after it began production here in 1922. American National Bank also achieved great success during this time period by opening several branches throughout western Wisconsin including one in Milwaukee which was known for being one of the most professional banks at that time. Finally, Waukesha Paper ProductsCompany became well-known for producing high quality paper products such as envelopes and checks during this time period
The first settlers in Superior,Wisconsin were Jesse and Rachel Lockey. The town was founded on May 15, 1837 by the Lockey brothers. It was named for General Anthony Wayne who fought against British forces in the War of 1812. The town grew quickly, and by 1840 it had a population of over 100 people. In 1851, the town granted incorporation to Superior Township. In 1865, the state of Wisconsin created a new county called Milwaukee County in order to centralize government services in one area. Superior Township became part of Milwaukee County. In 1915, Superior Township voted to become an independent city under Mayor John J. Kappelman. The city was incorporated on November 3, 1915. The original courthouse was built in 1847 and is still standing today; it is used as a library branch by the City of Milwaukee. On October 5th, 1908, the first professional hockey game ever played took place at the newly constructed Madison Civic Arena when the Racine Americans defeated the Chicago Black Hawks 3-2
