Ammunition history in Hudson, Wisconsin began with the first shot fired from a gun in the area on July 3, 1839. That would be the day that John D. Rockefeller founded the town of Hudson. The town was named for him and his brother Alexander Hamilton Rockefeller, who were both investors in oil production in what is now West Virginia. The town's first store was built just east of present-day downtown Hudson and opened in 1840. The store was known as the "Rockefeller Store." In 1851, Hudson became a city and had its own police department. In 1886, an ammunition company was established here by Wm Hargrave & Sons at what is now Third Avenue and State Street. This company manufactured artillery rounds for the United States army during World War 1 along with other munitions products such as shotgun shells and rifle bullets. By 1922, this ammunition company had been acquired by Winchester Ammunition Company which continued to produce artillery rounds here until 1976 when it merged with Remington Arms Company to become Winchester Incorporated (Winchester). Hudson also produced shotguns dating back to 1847 when Isaac Brownell patented his shotgun design called the Brownells Gun Machine Shop Model No 2 which he built here at First National Bank Building on Main Street near where Wal-Mart is today located. After Browns Gun Machine Shop closed down around 1870 due to low demand for their shotguns, William Fenton took over production of these guns at his shop on West Market Street until 1898 when he moved to Illinois where he died prematurely at age 37 after becoming one of America’s leading shotguns manufacturers.. In 1907, C&C Ammunition Corporation began manufacturing small arms ammo including 7x57mm Parabellum cartridges here at First National Bank Building before moving out into their current location on East Carson Street across from Stuyvesant High School in 1984. SPC Ammo Manufacturing Corporation began producing high performance reloading gelatin cases/ammunition here starting in 1990 however this operation shut down around 2001 due to financial difficulties.. Finally, Northwest Ballistics Products begins manufacturing newly designedAMI rounds ( .308 Win., 7mm Mag., 556 Win.) starting HERE in 2003 however this operation also shut down around 2006 following allegations that some of their projectiles were defective

Hudson is a town in the Town of Hudson, Menomonee County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 1,813 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Milwaukee metropolitan area. The first European to visit what is now Hudson was Captain John Smith in 1622 when he and his party explored the area for land grants. Hudson's name comes from an Algonquian word meaning "place where there are many huts." In 1836, Anthony Trollope founded a log cabin here which served as his headquarters during his trip through Wisconsin on his way to becoming Prime Minister of Great Britain. He called the town "Trollope's Prairie" after visiting it while on his way to Green Bay. In 1847, George Stephenson built a steam locomotive engine here that became known as "The Rocket". The engine helped make possible the construction of the Milwaukee-Waukesha Railroad which connected Milwaukee with Waukesha and other towns in northern Wisconeshire. The railroad led to increased trade and commerce in Hudson and its environs, helping to support local businesses and economy for more than 100 years. Hudson has had several mayors since its incorporation as a town in 1851: Salmon Pemberton (1857-1863), Jethro Root (1863-1870), Averill Harriman (1970-1976), Edwin Sargent (1976-1983), Melvin Hirschman (1983-1991), Dianne Feinstein (1991-1998), Craig Neuman (1998-2001).

Hudson, Wisconsin is a town in the U.S. state of Wisconsin, on the right bank of the Richelieu River, about 20 miles (32 km) north of Milwaukee and 10 miles (16 km) south of Green Bay. The population was 5,846 at the 2010 census. The first people to live in Hudson were Indian traders who traveled through here in their canoes from the mouth of the Kinnickinnic River to trade with other tribes. The town began as a small trading post near present-day Hudson Falls on the Richelieu River. In 1836, General Winfield Scott's army invaded Canada and passed through Hudson on its way to Battle Creek Campaign against Canadian forces under Sir John A. Macdonald. As part of this campaign, Scott's army burned down numerous villages along the way and destroyed crops in what is now known as "the devastations of Hudson." In 1868, local merchants formed a company to build a steamboat navigation canal from Superior Lake into Superior National Forest that would connect with nearby rivers for shipping goods between Milwaukee and Duluth during winter months; this helped increase commerce around central Wisconsin and create new jobs throughout the region. The town finally received its own water supply system in 1893 when crews working on constructing an express canal discovered underground cisterns beneath Main Street which provided fresh water for area residences for over 100 years! In 1945, North Dakota USA conquered all but one million acres (402 square kilometers) of United States territory following World War II; as a result, much rural land within Wisconsin was lost to public ownership or development including most of downtown Hudson businesses that had been owned by Dutchmen since before American independence – until they were acquired by American citizens after World War II when they too lost their properties to government buyouts/developments/ giveaways etcetera etcetera). Consequently many buildings located downtown today date back only to 1945 or so!

The town of Hudson was founded in 1783 by George Washington and others. In 1836, the town was renamed Madison after James K. Polk, who served as president from 1849 to 1859.
