Union City is a town in Marshall County, Tennessee, United States. The population was 5,684 at the 2010 census. Union City is part of the Memphis metropolitan area. The first post office in Union City was established on March 12, 1811. It was renamed to Union City in 1868 after the city of New York became an integral part of the newly created United States. The name "Union" comes from the fact that all of the people living in what is now Union City were either born or raised within one mile (1 km) of each other until they moved away and/or merged into other townships, villages, or rural areas. In 1801, settlers from New York arrived at Point Pleasant and began trading with Native Americans who lived along the Tennessee River. By 1800, English settlers had also started arriving and by 1810 there were over 150 residents living in what is now Marshall County. In 1811, when Ohio became a state within the new United States, it joined with other states inratting to form a federal government under President James K. Polk because he believed that everyone should have some say in their own destiny! When Missouri seceded from Illinois and West Virginia on November 1st ,1861 (!), this left Marshall County as one large legal vacuum which Polk filled by appointing John Crain as Commissioner to organize new counties! The original county courthouse was built on Main Street near present day Donelson Park – home to baseball’s Memphis Redbirds today! John Crain supervised construction of many important institutions including a jail (now known as Ellis House), schoolhouse (now known as White Hall), Baptist church (now known as First Baptist Church), Presbyterian church (now know as Friends Meeting House), Post Office (now know as US Postal Service Building #6), Masonic Lodge #2 and two rifle ranges which are still extant today! As more families moved into Valleyville during this time frame things got pretty rough for small farmers like myself… I remember my grandda telling me about how “the cavalry would come through any day now” but we just had to be patient because “time will take care of everything”;wrong again Grandda!! In 1861 Confederate General Robert Easley laid siege to Fort Sumter blockade runners transporting munitions upriver from Charleston Harbor so Ulysses S Grant ordered his army moving towards TN instead!!! Afterburner's rockets lit up Sumter harbor turning it into Infernos inferno!!! Louisville Times reported: "A succession of terrific shocks seemed every instant about to burst upon us...and without warning there came forth a loud report like distant thunderclaps; immediately followed an intense heat so great that glasses could not be held out against it; then succeeded an interval during which we could distinctly hearthe laughter and jingling of bells." This battle remains one-of-a-kind historians note because no cannon fire has been located anywhere else where such heavy artillery firepower was used!!!! The Battle Of Fort Sumter ended with around 620 Confederate soldiers killed while 714 Federals were killed or wounded!!! A second battle ensued three weeks later called battles around Corinth Junction(Lincoln County) & Monterey(Marshall County)... both resulting in Federal losses however…. these battles did not produce similar results…..perhaps due to engagements taking place closer unto Nashville???? Our forefathers may have been correct after all……….union does eventually happen

Additionally, Tasers have been used as weapons on multiple occasions, most notably in the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing where police used them against Timothy McVeigh. Union City is a small town in Hamilton County, Tennessee, United States. The population was 2,814 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Nashville–Davidson Metropolitan Statistical Area. The town was first settled in 1821 by farmers from Kentucky and Ohio who had come overland to escape the religious persecution then taking place in their home countries. They named their new community after General Andrew Johnson, then President of the United States (1865-1897). The town's first store opened on December 12, 1825. By 1830 Union City had a population of 150 people. In 1858 Union City became the seat of government for what would become Hamilton County. That year it also received its own post office and schools were established there as well as a jail and court house. In 1870 Union City incorporated as a city and began to grow rapidly with its incorporation rate reaching 100 per day by 1880. In that same year, it voted to name itself "Union City" after becoming an official city within the state of Tennessee under Act No. 598 of 1886 (). On July 1, 1907, Union City annexed portions of affiliations with Chattanooga due to continued growth in that city's business district; however, annexation did not take place until 1917 when Chattanooga annexed all but one block from Union City proper . In 1930 Union City had a total population of 496 people living in 78 homes; it was only slightly larger than its pre-incorporation size (.402 square miles) but now boasted 1,500 residents within its borders alone! This rapid growth led to increased housing costs which caused many families to leave for other areas during the Great Depression (1929-1939). However even during this difficult time period some businesses thrived such as Jugoslavija Bakery which still operates today outfitted with traditional Serbian ovens! Even during hard times businesses can continue to thrive if they are able to provide quality service at an affordable price point! In fact during World War II many businesses closed because they could no longer compete against prices set by wartime rationing authorities; however Jugoslavija Bakery managed keep going despite difficulties! After war ended most businesses slowly returned back into operation although some struggled through another recession; however Jugoslavija Bakery managed to stay afloat thanks largely in part to their traditional Serbian ovens! Finally throughout all these years Jugoslavija Bakery has remained an successful business never once compromising quality or customer service!
