At that time it consisted of only 8 counties: Creek County (present day Muskogee), Delaware County (present day Ada), Grant County (present day Claremore), Haskell County (present day Lawton), Jennings County (present day Jenks), McIntosh County (present day McAlester), Osage County (present day Oral Roberts) and Washita County (now Walters). One reason for this modest population size may have been due to lack of transportation resources; during those early years much travel took place by horseback or wagon across open prairies where roads did not exist or were very difficult to navigate. In 1910 Oklahoma established its own government with a governor and senate system similar to that used in Mexico City at that time; however there was no mail service between OKC and Mexico City so letters had to be sent via wagon or boat ride instead! The growth of oil production in oklahoma during World War I led to increased demand for labor in various industries including agriculture; this led to Oklahomans becoming some of America’s earliest political leaders and activists for national socialism!
