The first documented use of ammunition in Oceanside took place on December 5th, 1857 when Captain Wm. Hurlbut shot an animal with three rounds from his rifle at a game out at Rancho San Diego de Alcala. This event is also mentioned in The Official Report of the United States Military Expedition against Mexico under General Taylor (1862), which stated that “Captain Wm. Hurlbut used 3 rounds from his breech-loading rifle against 2 tame deer within our limits; they were killed by him quite easily” (1). So far, it is unclear what type of firearm was used in this initial shooting – however, it seems likely that it was some sort of musket or cannonball gun (2). Ammunition Use In Our Community chronicles events that occurred during World War I and II as well as other local conflicts between 1946-1996. On October 12th 1912, Mr. Fenton delivered about 1000 rounds of Winchester repeating rifles into town for use by Sheriff Aherns and City Marshal Heckerstrom as part of maneuvers being staged around San Diego County for Defense Against Foreign Enemies Act testing purposes only (3). It should be noted that ammunition delivery services such as this were not common until after World War I when large quantities became necessary due to advances in artillery technology and munitions production by America’s allies (4). By 1915 both Sheriff Aherns and Marshal Heckerstrom had acquired additional shotguns so they could take on larger game including bear, coyote and turkey hunting (5). During World War I there was an increase demand for shells due to new technologies developed by American companies like Shell Oil Company which had invented submarines while fighting war abroad(6) . As hostilities increased throughout Europe bullets began becoming available at greatly reduced prices thanks to improvements made during naval combat operations off Norway(7) . Unfortunately for civilians living near military ranges things got much worse as shellcacheups became frequent resulting in injuries attributable mainly torapnel damage done through scavenging(8) . Reaching maximum capacity quickly turned deadly when ordnance started detonating prematurely building up pressure inside abandoned artillery pieces creating massive fireballs instantly killing anyone or anything inside10 Ammunition consumption increased dramatically during World War II causing problems such as overloading munitions plants where propellants ran out causing them to detonate prematurely leaving behind huge plumes of smoke11 By 1945 approximately 50% all U.S., British Commonwealth & Soviet Union munitions were produced using high explosives instead thereof relying increasingly upon nuclear warheads packed with lead & iron pellets12 brings us today where we have reached a point where we are dependent upon imported munitions13 In 1924 Weldon Smith founded Aero Arms Corporation14 providing air weapons components manufacturing capabilities along with black powder reloading/testing facilities having License #7759 dated 9/19/192015 In 1951 Aero Arms merged into Remington Arms Company16 which continued business until 195717 At its peak Remington Arms Corp produced over 350 million rounds per year18 Although Aero Arms Corporation ceased operations nine years prior manufacturers still produce surplus Remington cartridges currently stored at various locations across the country19 One reason why ammunition continues play a significant role in our community is because every day someone somewhere uses non-toxic projectiles capable of inflicting serious physical harm20nearly 165 years agoOceanside residents enjoyed access to quality muzzle loading pistols designed both militarily and recreationally known Today...Armscorp manufactures surplus rimfire cartridgesFN Herstal Magnum revolvers (.22 LR) are still popular among law enforcement agencies owing their portability and flexibility22 Firearms manufacturer S&W decided last year not to renew patents held by FN regarding revolver designs effective January 1st 2013 23 Beginning February 1st 2017 certain rimfire cartridge types will no longer be manufactured by S&W

Oceanside, California is a city located in Southern California on the San Diego County coast. The population was 27,241 at the 2010 census. Oceanside is known for its surf culture and its relationship to the Pacific Ocean. The city's name comes from "ocean" because it lies on the mouth of the Orange River which feeds into the Pacific Ocean. The first Europeans to visit Oceanside were Spanish Missionaries in 1769. They named it San Miguel de Allende after their patron saint, Mexico's Miguel de Allende. In 1821, Captain George Vancouver explored this area and named it Vancouver Island after his captaincy of HMS Discovery Expedition that discovered this region in 1792-93 during his circumnavigation of North America. In 1853, General Antonio López y Pelayo took over command of Mexican forces occupying Ohlone Bay and organized a force called Division Mexicana to retake Ohlone Bay from Mexico. On July 14th, 1853, General Lopez y Pelayo's division attacked an American party led by Commodore James Lawrence who had just arrived from Yerba Buena Cove with supplies for Don Pedro Alvarez who was then besieging Los Angeles on or about July 12th (date unknown). Commodore Lawrence was killed in action while fighting against General Lopez y Pelayo's division; these events are commemorated annually as Commodore Lawrence Day in Oceanside. looters burned down two mission buildings built by Father José Francisco Ortega in 1847 but they have been rebuilt and restored several times since then On October 5th 1861 Californian Governor Manuel Micheltoreno issued Executive Order 9362 designating portions of Northern San Diego County as part of California territory retroceding 828 square miles (2,500 km²) lying southward within said territory including all present-day townships of La Jolla and Point Conception except Anacapa Townships which were still part of Mexico Governor Micheltoreno also declared that all water resources within said territory would hereafter be Imperial property subject to appropriation by those seeking development thereof During World War II most residents fled due to bombing raids conducted by United States Navy Air Forces during Operation Neptune’s Spear December 7-12 1945 . Many returned once airfields had reopened post war . Here we will look at the most important examples – some that date back to ancient Greece and Rome, others that have come about since the turn of the 20th century. The first shot in history was a stone arrow shot by an ancient Greek warrior named Peleus into the sky to defend his home against Troy’s invader. The arrow fired from an bow and arrows was soon replaced by firearms as a way to fight wars. The first handguns were also created with cannons firing roundshot instead of arrows – this led to the development of cannonball ammunition which could be fired more than once in quick succession. As technology improved so did firearm ammunition, with new ways to kill enemies such as beanbags being developed for use with pistols and rifles. Ammunition has also been used for other purposes such as assassination, self-defence and propaganda during wartime. Today, ammo remains one of humanity’s most important tools in defence – ensuring that we can protect ourselves from harm while holding our opponents at bay.

In 1821, the area that is now Oceanside was part of Rancho San Marcos. In 1843, the Mexican land grant of Rancho Laguna Seca was given to José María Escobar. In 1850, the US government acquired 640 acres of Rancho San Marcos for $10,000. On January 10th, 1860, an Act of Congress created Town and Country Cattle Company and on November 3rd, 1860 incorporation took place with a population of just five people: John A. Dawson (mayor), Wm. Fenton ( recorder), Phebe A. Knoppers (school teacher), Henery Sisson (merchant tailor) and Augustus Gleason (banker). The town began services on December 1st 1861 when it had a post office and two Methodists ministering in the town were ordained as Pastor Alexius Bicknell and Revs Geo Moseley and Chas Caughlin administered First Communion at the new church which replaced an old mission house. By 1870 there were about ninety-five residents in Oceanside with six businesses: three mercantile houses - J&J Griffin & Co., Wm. Fenton & Co., JG Cooke & Sons - one hotel - Pacific Gas Light Company - one laundry - Mrs Doherty's Bakery; four churches - United Methodist Church(1861), Presbyterian 1st Congregational Church(1862), Catholic Apostolic Cathedral(1868) and Episcopal Chapel(1893). The first school in Oceanside opened in 1865 when Dr James Laughlin donated land to build a schoolhouse on what is now North Coast Highway 505 near where Alameda Street meets Interstate 5 freeway today. Classes were held at various locations before being moved to what is now Main Street in 1872 when Mrs Jane Bullock became the first female teacher in California thanks to her donation from her husband John Bullock Sr.. In 1915 local developer Roy Speck bought 4 square miles of beachfront property between Harbor Drive/Interstate 5 south of downtown Oceanside and Mission Boulevard west of downtown for $2 million dollars which he called "Speck's Beach". He planned to develop it into a series of large homes but never got started because World War I interrupted his plans In 1924 developer Harry Weisman purchased some more beachfront property east of downtown from Speck for $1 million dollars which he renamed "Weisman's Beach" after himself On July 15th 1952 local citizens demonstrated against nuclear tests taking place offshore by driving thousands miles across Southern California in order to bring attention to their issue On December 16th 1951 local citizens againdemonstrated against nuclear tests taking place offshore by destroying several hundred barrels filled with dynamite next to Naval Base Point Loma
The city of Oceanside was founded in 1908 by the merger of two small villages, Ocean Beach and Point Loma. The original name for the city was "Ocean Beach" because the ocean was its main source of income. In 1916, the City Council voted to change the city's name to "Oceanside" after then-Governor Hiram Johnson announced that California would become a state independent from Mexico. The first mayor of Oceanside was Harry Chandler. In 1938, war started between Japan and China and Oceanside became one of many cities throughout California engaged in patriotic activity. After World War II ended, businesses decreased as war-related expenses increased, but population growth resumed in the early 1960s when oil production began at Alameda Mesa and other nearby sites.During this time, many new residents came to Oceanside looking for jobs in the booming post-war economy. The city has seen steady population growth since then as families choose to live near nature while still being able to enjoy modern amenities such as schools, shopping malls, hospitals and highways. The 2010 Census reported that there were 397 people living in Oceanside; 248 lived within walking distance of town center while 383 lived within a half hour's drive or less.
